Just checking. I am about to do returns by post. I have filled in the details on the invoice. Do I just put that in the box and stick the retun lable on the outside, then hand to over in the post office. I know it sounds daft but I have not done it before so don't want to do anything wrong.
    Thanks

kmeast - sorry to hear you're having problems returning earrings :( I can confirm that a set of necklace and pierced earrings that I returned from the start of the sale, have already been refunded

Also, when I spoke to their CS last week, I specifically asked whether I could return jewellery that I ordered online (as often there wasn't even a picture of them!) and was told yes. I then said 'what, even pierced earrings too, I didn't think they were returnable for hygiene reasons?' to be told that it's different rules for internet orders and returns would be no problem at all. I said I had been concerned because there was a note on the website somewhere about earrings being non-refundable but again they reassured me there wouldn't be a problem.

I intend to send some back too, and if I have any trouble I'll be straight back on the phone to that person!

**WARNING** To anyone else ordering 'mystery' jewellery items - having checked the returns policy it does state that earrings are non-returnable. I have 2 x £3 and 1 x £1 earrings that I will never wear & can't take back!! (Have posted pics on a previous post)

What about the fact that they were not actually described as earrings in many cases?
Also, if you just post them back to M and S using their postal returns system, what do they do? Any ideas? I did a mad order of jewellery on the last day, basically ordered everything on the site without having any idea what it actually was, will be gutted if I end up having to keep items which I don't like and are too ugly for gifts

Yes, just tear off the returns part of the invoice and put that in the box/parcel, so you keep the main bit. Stick the address label on the outside and either stick it over your address label or peel it off (so the parcel doesn't come back to you lol). Then give it to the Post Office and make sure they give you a proof of posting, which you should keep until they email you to say your refund has been processed.

I used the postal returns system without another thought, and it has all gone through fine.

Did you buy them online, if so just return them back by post with the free returns label.

This is the distance selling regulations page from M and S website. It doesn't mention that earrings are excluded, but does say that you have 7 days to return items. looks like the 35 days is a gesture of goodwill on their part, so they would be within their rights to refuse to take them back after 7 days. I was going to wait until all my items had arrived and then make final decisions about what to keep, but think I'll send earrings back within the 7 days to be on the safe side.

    £3 from £18 mystery, anyone know ? T063000L

This is a necklace made up of tarnished chains of different styles. The chain lengths are gathered together at the front by a diamante cuff, the chain ends hang down.
I bought 3 of these:o and wish I hadn't, apart from the cuff I think they are quite ugly :(

Thanks - I did quote 'distance selling regulations' but they still refused - even got another member of staff over to back them up. I'm too chicken to make a fuss so just acepted it.

It does include earrings on the delivery note as items excluded from goodwill refunds - but I think I might chance it! Can I just put them in a jiffy bag - seems daft to put 3 earrings in a big box!

As usual thanks for your advice everyone!

(Oh and its some consolation that as I was walking through M&S this morning I managed to pick up a lovely pair of Limited jeans for £5 - just put out on the clearance rail!)

    Thanks for the reply.
I put the whole invoice in after filling in the reason for return bit and taking the lable off, I knew I would do something wrong biut am sure it wont matter. Thanks again
