Happy Birthday Sally & Pap :bdaycake:

Lovely to meet you both in the summer, two really great people :A, hopefully see you again in the New Year :D

Becky - glad your Mum is ok, I remember one of my cats bit me about 6 years ago, my right thumb, back in the days before "chip & pin" when you still had to sign for everything, felt a right berk at the supermarket when I had to sign for my grocery shop, couldn't hold a pen & ended up grasping on to it like I was just learning to write :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Katie - whilst you are feeling bad, just stop. I found that once I had decided to give up, that was it. I know it isn't that easy for everyone but you have to want to give up.

Sadly I have never been able to give up chocolate in the same way I gave up smoking though!!

Seriously I am so glad I did. It costs such a lot and you really do notice a difference in the smell of your clothes and hair (ooops reformed smoker rant there, sorry!)

Becky glad your Mum is on the mend.

Scaredy - how are you doing with your diet or have you put it on hold for Christmas?

My new years resolutions are to lose weight (mmm think I have had that one for the last 20 odd years!) and to lose my debt, which I am seriously hoping will be gone by this time next year.

Everytime I hear the 'dirty' word Exercise, I wash my mouth out with chocolate!

Thanks Sally :A Tried to go for the achievable this year - instead of the ridiculous/bound to fail of past years

Any tips you can give me sammy?

Has anyone else thought of there new yrs resolutions yet?

I think mine are as follows
    • Stop smoking (ney yr/jan 14)
    • Save, Save and Save for my house deposit aiming for 10k!
    • Have some little adventures, weekends away, mini road trips with friends (especially now I know how with cheap hotels/flights)
    • Start a part time degree!
    hmmm I will keep thinking . .

    x

    stay away from other smokers
    stay away from drink
I actually always kept a packet handy cos if I knew they were there then I didn't seem to crave them.

I am sure it must be easier now that pubs don't allow smoking. Even after I gave up I found going out for a drink with friends who smoked incredibly difficult. I often ended up having a cigarette but then felt awful the day after. When that happens remind yourself that you are a non smoker and carry on as if nothing happened.

It does get easier. I too am a reformed smoker and I found it really difficult to breathe at my in laws over christmas. They constantly moan they have no money to do anything and yet smoke 40 a day....

My mother in law would rather cough a lung up than give up smoking! Its quite distressing to see tbh

*sorry that turned into a bit of a rant*

I am trying hard not to make any new year resolutions.....they would just be the same as every other year and I obviously fail every year.....

so this year I am just going to take every new day as it comes....
