There was a case many years ago where a salesman offered a car for 700 bananas, someone turned up with a truck and dumped them on the forecourt and they were made to take it by the courts.
I do not know whether it is still relevant but if you actually completed the sale online by entering your details they would be contractually bound to sell it at that price.
At least i read that somewhere, would need others to confirm."Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
sparhawke where did u find that info out about them having to accept it, as I have posted about an order I made online which was accepted by the retailer but it would appear that they have now cancelled it without informing me!0

just clicked on the link and the price is now £149.99 :rotfl:Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

I'm sure I saw this in-store at that price on the 29th?!?! I thought it was a bit cheap...
They were all stacked at the top of the collection point shelving with an a4 piece of paper saying £79.99...The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

I read it in a sales book years ago which I got given, I forget the name of it.
I found this article specifically about Amazon but it should apply to you too. If they have sent you an email saying they have shipped it then they would be bound to supply you with your goods regardless of what price was advertised, yet companies seem to be able to make up their own rules as they go along.
If you had made the mistake they would feel no obligation to rectify it would they?

I doubt very much that the OP is being a chancer, they saw something at an advertised price and attempted to get it for that.
Working in a customer facing position, like as an assistant store manager means that no matter how rude or impolite the customer is being your still representing the store. They learn to put personal feelings aside and should be polite regardless. If I was like that in my job I would be disciplined for being rude, and so should the assistant manager.0 -

Of course they're being a chancer - they saw a price on a standard item that was significantly lower than what you can get it anywhere else and thought 'oh that's worth a bash' and now they're trying to drum up any legislation they can to back their dodgy views.0
