Argos: wrong price on website for Dsi

hi, on the Argos website (right now and since this morning) the price for a black Dsi is £79.99 (£70 off) i reserved it at that price and tried to pick it up from my local store today. they refused to sell it to me at that price saying it was a mistake. Are they allowed to do this? and as it is still advertised at the incorrect price what can i say to them, i plan to go back and complain properly 2moro....thanks Spud

    they could advertise it at £1 but they can still refuse to sell it to you. even at full price, they can still say no.

    Its says when you reserve the price you pay is the price IN STORE on the day you collect your items.

    I appreciate ur point but surely there is some sort of 'false advertising' laws around to prevent this? I work for B&Q and we can be fined £5000 per item that is incorrectly priced...does this not apply to everyone else?

    Yes they can, I think I misread the OP slightly. I thought they said it was coming up as a higher price.

    You could order it online? When ordering online you'll pay what the price on the site is as they charge you there and then? :)

    I think I'm still going to complain 2moro, the young assistant store manager that spoke to me today enjoyed making me feel like an idiot, he almost laughed at me and said ''surely u must have realised it was a mistake?''....not a nice chappy!
