Feet aching, huge big blister and got 15 mins from the top of the mountain but had to turn back as gale force winds and torrential rain beat me back past!!! Anyone who watched the golf at Loch Lomond this morning can empathise with me - I was in the vicinity!
Used up a capful of precious Jo Malone bath oil when I got home - really how long can I eek this bottle out for (!) and soaked away the rain, cold and disappointment. Still another 5 months till my birthday, can i make it last that Long???
About to crawl into bed early now, as absolutely shattered (woke up at 5 cos was so excited about the mountain!!!)0 -

I know, I know, I know on the lunch! Okay - here's my defence m'luds and ladies. It's best friends birthday, and whenever we go anywhere (like mountain walking) she ALWAYS provides the full picnic lunch, and it's always a delicious one, not just a couple of mouldy rolls - we're talking deluxe, low-fat, well considered, yummy picnic lunch!! I've offered numerous times to take a turn; pay for ingredients etc. but she always refuses - so today it was my turn to treat her, being her birthday!
Need to see what damage this has created in an already over-stretched month!!
Feeling heaps better than yesterday - put in another 10 + hour at work (but took 1.5 hours off at lunchtime, which is highly unusual even to get a break!) but again, didn't feel guilty as only take lunch twice a year (my birthday and hers!).
Had a massive row with DH 10 minutes ago, about where the sand started and stopped on the beach:o:o seriously ... that was the start and the end of this very blazing row, nothing else - even the kids were totally incredulous that we could manage to shout about something so utterly stupid
indicative really of the way life has become.

Hope you and DH are talking again hun.
My DH went away for the weekend with his dadam looking forward to having him back but it was sooo nice to be by myself. (was at the edge of hitting him with a frying pan last week)

ha-ha, well DH and I made it up shortly after posting last night - he came up to apologise for being a twallop, and we ended up playing cards for hours with the kids!
Today has been a huge spend day - unbudgeted clothes - bought on an MSE promotion, not to mention extra groceries (fresh bread; fruit; veg and hair dye(!)) plus petrol, which is the last budgeted spend of the month, but will need more - eeeeek!
Gave the kids £10 each for them to budget with for the next week of the hols to go out with their friends - DD3 going to cinema tomorrow etc. They do deserve it, have been in since a fortnight ago when they got grounded for sheer stupidity!!0 -

All kids safe at home in the nest!! Didn't get in from work until 7 by which time they were all settled in front of the TV with barely a hello and what's for tea!!! Well, that was an easy one - HM Pizza, nacho's and chips - back to kiddy food - yummy!!
Had a fabulous evening, playing cards, giggling like mad about "being at the market with a goat" (you had to be there), snacking on popcorn and generally having a lovely time - particularly as I won at cards

Woke up early (as usual) and my body wanted to climb a mountain, but I was totally grounded by both weather and children. Went to the library to swap a carp book, and pick up the next in a series (I love the library so much - how comes I stayed away so long!!!), did a teensy ASDA shop for picnic lunch / BBQ extra's (fresh rolls / salad etc.) and got home ... and everyone else was STILL in bed!
Eventually at lunchtime we were all ready and after a heated game of Trivial Pursuit - eventually declared a draw, they voted to go to the beach - so we had a gorgeous stroll along the beach with the sun getting progressively better.
Came back, played more cards - I won again (!) then enjoyed fab BBQ with the sun gleaming.
They're now all watching a film downstairs, eating popcorn and marshmallows - and I'm up here waiting for my hair to turn a new colourSo far, fingers crossed, kept to minimal budget - can we keep it up without the kids thinking we've gone nuts!!!

Fabby day, playing games again, and then went to shopping centre for various birthday gifts etc. all pre-budgeted. Had lovely tea in Burger King - I know, how classy am I that I'm reduced to being excited about a bacon double cheeseburger special offer (2 meals for £7!!) - the meal for 6 costs £20.15 ... that's really taking things to MSE isn't it!!!
What other bargains did I manage - a facewash voucher in Boots - that's about it!
Back to work tomorrow - lovely weekend though x0 -

Had wonderful conversation(s) with various relatives around the world - one in Africa (all the kids too); one in Munich and the other in Spain - telephones are fabulous things!!!0
