Day 7
Money Spent - £4.12
Extra Money Earnt - £200.44!!!!!!! :j:j:j
Money Saved - zero
Hours / Days since last cigarette - 7 days
Number of sweets / cakes etc. - 3 pieces of butter tablet - sliding downhill again!
Weight - first & last weigh in Day 7: 0 / 35lb.
Hardest Thing So Far - not crying at handing over £2 for a present sheet!! And, finding somewhere private that wouldn't scare children, to weigh myself.
HL Score: 7/10
I managed to find some scales and weighed myself. The news was not good - not even a little glimmer of good! And that's after a week of cutting out the rubbish! So, I've now added weight to my target above but will only update once per week, else that will become yet another obsession for me!
Have now had my first 'spend' of the year - a whole £2 - but as it was unbudgeted for, just pushes my deficit that wee bit further back!
Spent an hour doing a very backdated travel expense claim form at work, for all the wee trips I've done in the past 12 months! Came to a whopping £200! Wow - am chuffed to bits with that! Won't be paid out for a couple of months, but even so, am really pleased it's on its way!
Took Gran out shopping, first time she's been out in a fortnight, and I had her shackled too me in the snow. Anyway, inevitably I ended up spending money - oh yes!!! £2.12 to be precise - and for that I got 6 (yes 6!!) bags of shopping - all whoopsies (not one thing was 'real price'). Will hopefully keep us going into Week 3. Will add it to my meal planning thread to help out there.0 -
Day 8
Money Spent - zero
Extra Money Earnt - zero
Money Saved - zero
Hours / Days since last cigarette - 8 days
Number of sweets / cakes etc. - :EasterBun
Weight - first & last weigh in Day 7: 0 / 35lb.
Hardest Thing So Far - I need to stop eating bad things!!!
HL Score: 0/10
Have had a horrible, awful day with eating. I need my teeth wired shut - knowing me, I'd bloomin liquidise the evil chocolate and suck it up a straw:shocked:.
I tried to make amends by going out for a walk at lunchtime round the park but there was no way my half an hour was going to do any good - the calories were already heading south to join the rest of the lard on my eriss!
Ha-ha, if there was anything positive - it was all free food !
7th No spend day of the month now.
HL just beyond awful, didn't even rate a score ... one day **sigh**
Am all prepped for my day out tomorrow. Had to PMSL as friend said, ooh, shall we treat ourselves to first class train :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: little did she know that I was going to suggest getting off two stops sooner to save a quid on the fare by walking!!!! Guess that's out the window then!0 -
Day 9
Money Spent - £17.20 :j(budget for day out was £40!!)
Extra Money Earnt - zero
Money Saved - £22.80
Hours / Days since last cigarette - 9 days
Number of sweets / cakes etc. - Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots of Lovely Things - OMG!!!
Weight - first & last weigh in Day 7: 0 / 35lb.
Hardest Thing So Far - Trying to convince people that I'm serious about all this stuff!
HL Score: 4/10
Had an amazing day out thanks to bgf who threw in dinner as part of the treat!
Was quite chuffed and looking forward to posting on here, however, before that could happen DH and I got on to the subject of his birthday and he told me all about a lovely present he would like that costs £150 :eek::eek:! He just doesn't get it, and never will! You'll think I've gone nuts, but see for an easy life, I now need to find this money - I now don't think January's going to be achievable without using credit, and I was trying so bloomin hard as well!
Also, hadn't counted in overdraft fee which has just arrived with statement - add on another £24.23! Arghhh! This is madness!
I could put the gift onto the catalogue account but will cost £180 from there (i.e. £30 interest over 12 months), but that's cheating and it's only day 9 - if I give up this easily, will I always!! Advice desperately needed please (saying no gift is not an option!!)0 -
Wow thats an expensive pressie.

I've joined the lovely Flylady thread now as well, as with all things in my life, I'm determined to declutter not only my finances, but my house as well! We spent a very 'enjoyable' 4.5 hours cleaning earlier, and the downstairs is nearly sparkling. Few odd jobs left, but nothing major. This was quite good because it felt like 4.5 hours of exercise which I desperately need.
Have contacted Next today about a faulty hot waterbottle stopper. Am desperately hoping they'll replace the stopper as I so can't afford a new one, and the house is still chilly (although we're all warm tonight from doing housework). Only problem is, I bought it last January in the sale ... - so they might say no as it's about a year (can't remember the exact date of purchase)!! I read on here, that some people use old Fabric Conditioner bottles as hotty botty's ... if Next say no, then I'll maybe try that, but keep fingers crossed for me that they've got some spares!
I had my first bank charge earlier on in the month and was quite devastated that it was £25 for being 88p over! Anyway, on another thread someone suggested phoning bank and asking them to reverse as not been over over-draft before! And they did - yay :T So by my reckoning ... I'm finally, finally, finally .... in credit for the month!!!!
Finally posted off all our Xmas thank you letters today - better late than never!0 -
Day 13
Money Spent - £3.14 rabbit food; £42.50 petrol
Extra Money Earnt - zero
Money Saved - zero
Hours / Days since last cigarette - 13 days
Number of sweets / cakes etc. - Couple of mince pies and cream
Weight - first & last weigh in Day 7: 0 / 35lb.
Hardest Thing So Far - Keeping up with flylady!
HL Score: 6/10 ... better!
Am gutted with the petrol! Was £2.50 over budget to begin with as the prices have gone up again! Also, unexpectedly ended up driving 150 miles round trip to a meeting, so now I've only got just over half a tank left - which puts me at needing an extra £21.25 to top it up.
I've not updated the sheet as yet because I'll see if I can eek out what's remaining from the budget first.
Am definitely going to give the pets their own grocery shopping budget next month - they've spent more of the £60 than I have!!!
Was meant to do next weeks meal plan today, but will roll that over until tomorrow.

Day 14
Money Spent - zero
Extra Money Earnt - £38.79 Boots Refund
Money Saved - £38.79 as had to spend the entire boots refund on things as wasn't allowed credit note or gift card.
Hours / Days since last cigarette - 2 weeks!!!
Number of sweets / cakes etc. - 2 small turkish delight chocolates and 3 hot cross buns
Weight - 2nd week weigh in: -1lb = 1 / 35lb.:j:j:j
Hardest Thing So Far - Leave for later
HL Score: 1/10
Yay - thanks to Flylady I'm sure, I've lost 1lb this week, despite all the pigging out on chocolate etc. Am so chuffed to bits. I know it's only 1lb, but its the thought that counts. Little and often will be fine!!!
Got fabby refund from Boots - and now have free ladies products, shampoos, conditioner, shower gel and toothpaste to last me the year!!!
Back to Youth Group tonight - was good, but not organised enough - need to do better for next week0
