Don't know - our last two kitchens have been Wickes and we've been more than happy with them.

Right after we installed this one, I saw the Ikea range though and wished I'd seen it before.

I don't think there's much in it personally. It all depends on which one does the look you're after.

we got a wickes kitchen as there were more sizes of cabinets available. we got ours during a 50% off with a free dishwasher. Why not price up the same kitchen in both stores and see who is cheapest?

  • I had a 'off the shelf' Wickes kitchen in my last house, (very reasonable price looked good even after several years). When we moved i chose Wickes again, this time i ordered one though the salesman (lots more choice of cupboard sizes). Very happy with it, only wish they'd been doing the new curved ones on their advert...lush!

Just ordered myself a B&Q kitchen yesterday myself.... just had a quick look at Wickes and in comparison B&Q seems a lot cheaper.... plus it had an extra 15% of everything until yesterday... now its only 15% off if you spend over £500 but still might be ok for you.

    Example: 500 wall unit - B&Q=£40 for the unit + £17.50 for the door total = £57.50 (or £48.87 with extra 15%) compared to Wickes = £110.... (WAS £220... !!!!!!?)

At B&Q they have upto 50% off door and draw fronts.

We had a quote from muppet and Q it in the last sale and 10000000000% off and that worked out at £4200 for the cook and lewis range.

The same plan took to Ikea came out at £1800 ish
    Thanks Niall

IKEA IKEA IKEA, love their styles, love their prices, love mine to bits. its solid and absolutely no issues whatsoever and its been in 2 yrs now. i also bought all their appliances too as they worked out cheaper than any where else in the end. plus, you can mix and match everything making your own individual design.

ikea units didnt used to have the 50mm gap at the back of the unit to run your pipes ect this made them difficult to fit
this was about a year ago so things may have changed but worth looking into
it could increase your fitting costs
  • Try a local person who can supply from Benchmarx, same kitchens as Wickes but a lot cheaper! We saved over 3000 on the same design and kitchen going with them and got the kitchen supplied and fitted for less Wickes could have supplied it!
  • Wickes and Howdens are the best quality out of the flat pack stuff, B&Q are by far the worse. Ikea are pretty rubbish too.
