Whilst I love period homes, I also like new builds.......all neat, and tidy - a true blank canvas :o

Thats true, isn't it - I *do* want a bit of reinvention - and I suppose you will too in time :grouphug::grouphug: I also want to have a look at the standards of the telecoms in there, to be honest - posh flats in regeneration areas have cable access in most rooms, for instance, I'm wondering what "normal" new builds are considered to need.

    Enjoy your frisson, KC!

I've done my M/S - need to input it yet, but will do that shortly.

Went "window shopping" for prom dresses for DD......and of course nothing that she tried on is available cheaper online....or on ebay etc. So it looks as though we will be paying full price.

Then went to pick up DS from skiing to be told that he needs adult skis now - something I have been waiting to be told, but hoping that he could get away with his last ones for a little longer......

    *sigh*

Hypno, for prom dresses do you have a TKMaxx, they normally get loads in, she might find something she likes there. Not sure if they've got them in yet though. Otherwise you could try a discount shopping village if you go near one.

We do have a tk maxx, but no shopping outlets anywhere near us. We will have to keep looking - whilst the ones that she tried on today were pretty perfect, they were also pretty expensive.....so for a couple of weeks, at least, we will keep searching.

Problem is, every 15/16 year old is hunting for prom dresses right now, so demand is high, and the retailers know that!!

Only other idea is hiring instead of buying, not sure how expensive it works out though, Norwich should be big enough to have some hire shops.

We are trying to find something that she can wear again - we have a couple of summer "party in a marquee" type do's to go to with my work etc this year, so the right prom dress could be worn enough times to pay for itself, and if we get it right, it would be cheaper than hiring.
