Hypno's "me, me, me, me, me," diary.....

Today, the computer at the halifax couldn't work out a simple LTV percentage, so I am no further on with the mortgage......it wasn't a case of "computer says no" but a case of "computer hasn't got a bloody clue".....and of course, no human can over-ride it.........**roll eyes smiley, come back, all is forgiven**
So, frustration continues.......as do the baby steps.......
Dear God, what are they using as their mortgage computer? A ZX81?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

It's a straightforward percentage calculation, beanie - one figure, divided by another.......
I need to borrow less than 80% of the value of the house.
I am actually borrowing 79.94% of the value of the house - except the computer makes the answer 84%
No one in the branch can work out why it won't get the right answer - there are only two parts to the sum, and both are definite numbers and not variable, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Obviously the computer needs to revisit basic numeracy........
Is it adding fees onto the loan?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Not unless the fees come to £11000 ish, in which case I don't want to proceed with my application :eek:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

:eek::eek:Would you think of another lender?
Not possible - I am on a fixed rate, for a few more years, so the penalty for moving is quite high (several thousand pounds still) so:
a) impossible to find that sort of cash
b) a very expensive "point" to make!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
