Weather was cold, but not wet, and not icy in that part of the city either.....it was also a good 15 min walk each way at a brisk pace, so some reasonable effort put in. Free lunch too, so all in all worth doing!

Good news on the yoga getting easier.......as you say, its just a case of getting back into a routine.

  • Hi Hypno - I've missed about 150 pages in the past few days - how this thread grows!!

How are you doing with the baby steps of positivity?

baby steps, EH, as pure hurt turns into anger, both with OH and "the situation" - money, mortages, blah blah blah.....

But each step is a step I have to take - the path is not always going to be easy, but neither is it always going to be full of potholes and crap :o

Today, the computer at the halifax couldn't work out a simple LTV percentage, so I am no further on with the mortgage......it wasn't a case of "computer says no" but a case of "computer hasn't got a bloody clue".....and of course, no human can over-ride it.........**roll eyes smiley, come back, all is forgiven**

So, frustration continues.......as do the baby steps.......

The Hellifax do not get any better.
Might their computer be able to do the LTV calculation next week?
Never sure how you actually do it.

It's a straightforward percentage calculation, beanie - one figure, divided by another.......

I need to borrow less than 80% of the value of the house.

I am actually borrowing 79.94% of the value of the house - except the computer makes the answer 84%

No one in the branch can work out why it won't get the right answer - there are only two parts to the sum, and both are definite numbers and not variable, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Obviously the computer needs to revisit basic numeracy........

  • Bah - don't you just yearn sometimes for pen, paper and a good old fashioned calculator to make an appearance?

I think the emotions you're working through are entirely to be expected. When you first knew you had to keep a lid on it for the mini-hypno's sake, had that not been the case I would imagine you would have moved onto the anger a lot sooner. Go with it and give yourself some breathing space and some "me time" and it will ease in time. As far as you can at the moment, use it to propel you forwards, and upwards. xxx

Hi Hypno, how frustrating?!! (couldn't find a "Zen / Rise above it all" smiley)

Other than that you sound well, which is good :)

What else do you have planned during your luscious week all to yourself?

We've had bad dealings with the Halifax, simply because they're trying to remove everything from the branch to the head office/ telephone/internet, so the branch can't do a lot, unless you get a friendly local branch manager which we did do fortunately on one occasion after running around for ages, and explaining the situation, we weren't the first. The staff were obviously as frustrated as we were. Hopefully we'll never deal with them again, unfotunately it's bad for the staff who did the best that they could.

That was with savings, where we got told only accessible online and then only accessible in the branch ad infinitum!!!

Perhaps I read that too quickly, but I didn't see "Running" or "Yoga" anywhere?!
I'm running in the morning BTW - but you can go anytime tomorrow ;)

Hope DD and DS have a fabby time!
We'll have to make do with the Winter Olympics (I would so love to visit Vancouver and Whistler *sigh*) - where they are flying-in the snow! :rotfl:
