Hi There
Right click Computer, select properties then Advanced system settings
Navigate to Advanced then Startup and recovery
Look at: Time to display list of operating systems
Uncheck this box and reboot, see if the prob goes away

DaveB & StuartK, Thanks for the replies
where nearly there
If Windows 7 is not the default, highlight it and click "set default"
Is anything else in there?
Nothing else in this box apart from
Windows 7 (C:\Windows) : Current OS; Default OS
You could also set the timeout to 0
this appears to have done the trick (well almost) it was set at 30, the lowest I was allowed to reset it was 3
Apply
did this, result, NO ANNOYING BLEEPING
thanks to both of you (and anyone else who has shown an interest)
the only problem now is the black screen (with the options to chose from)
is still there, is there an option/way to get rid of this
thanks again0 -
Not sure what black screen you mean
If Win 7 is your only OS on this system then I would turn boot options OFF

It sounds like when you installed, it either didn't completely wipe the old operating system or it's been installed on a separate partition. My advice would probably be to wipe your computer by doing a full/clean install instead of an upgrade. You will lose everything on your computer by doing this unless you make a backup.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

rebooted fine no annoying bleeps, however as stated above still the black screen
it stopped bleeping for 1 reboot only
haveing double checked the other options offered
its now started bleeping again,:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Redo the info on post 12
Regards
unless I'm reading them incorrectly and I hope I'm not
they both state the same things, except in a different order
both mention
resetting the time to display list of operating system to "0"
however it will only let me reset it to 3
I did this as described in post 11 first time and it worked no bleeping
however after restarting since then the bleeps are back
1 other point to note under the
time to display list of operating system to XX
there is another option to
time to display recovery options when needed XX
(this is currently set at 30 seconds (as was the option mentioned above)0 -
Why dont you just uncheck the box next to: time to display a list of OS's
