Win7 - logging on - please help

can anyone one shed any light on my problem please

I have recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 1750 (Vista Premium) that came with a Windows 7 upgrade

now having installed the windows 7 upgrade, every time I go to start it up/boot it up
I get a rather load bleeping noise (about 7-8 bleeps)
can any one shed any light on whats happened, whats wrong, what can I do to fix it/stop the annoying bleeping noise

any advice/tips would be appreciated, thanks

    How far does it get through booting - is there anything displayed on the screen?

    Thanks,

    its usually a black screen asking/telling you to choose what option to use
    there's 2/3 options to choose from memory

    will go and log on to that laptop and report back shortly (I'm on the wifes notebook at present)

    sounds like windows is displaying safe mode options for booting
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

    after I start up laptop, after a short while, there's 6-8 load bleeps
    then I I get a black screen, headed as Windows Boot Manager

    underneath this is the copy
    Choose an operating system to start, or press Tab to select

    Options

    Windows 7

    to specify an advanced option for this option choice, press F8

    Tools:
    Windows Memory Diagnostic

    Enter=Choose
    Tab= Menu
    ESC= Cancel

    hope you can understand this

    it logs straight into windows 7, with no problems

    however next time I reboot/restart

    the annoying bleeps, then the black screen returns :mad::mad::mad:

    No guarantees, but you could try this:
    In windows 7, Start >all progams >accesories >run
    Type msconfig and press enter
    Select the Boot tab

    If Windows 7 is not the default, highlight it and click "set default"
    Is anything else in there?
    You could also set the timeout to 0
    Apply

    Try a restart and see what happens
