beware though. firstly you'll have to pay, and secondly, they're full of sheite.

the word "delusional" springs to mind.

    Ditto

I wouldn't stand up in court like that according to some of the case studies on their website.

a good tip is to take all they say with a lorry load of salt.

a lot of hot air nd puff but refuse to provide proof of their ridiculous claims.

fairy tale reading that does make me giggle sometimes! i just hope no-one takes them too seriously.
NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.

and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.

can the csa just keep asking for more and more money till i cant afford it.

    In a word..........YES.

I'm in that exact situation right now. I estimate that my house will be re-possesed in approximately 6-9 months and I will then most probably lose contact with my kids completely.

But hey, as my sympathetic as ever CSA case worker pointed out to me, I'm just upset because they have trebbled my payments by switching me from CSA1 to CSA2 due to an event that was totally beyond my control and which I had certainly not budgeted for when I entered into my current mortgage.

The CSA is rotten to the core and it sounds very much like you are one of their latest victims. Chin up mate!!!!

Maybe he wouldn't be that 'victim' had he paid the correct amount of child support in the first place. Sorry - that is a fact, not fiction. On top of that, my tax paying pounds wouldn't need to go to enforcing NRP's to support their children, if they did so in the first place BEFORE it getting to these stages!

I'd be interested in hearing why the OP failed to support their child in the first place, before it got to the stage where the CSA where taking more than the required 15% of his net earnings.

Sorry, can't extend my sympathy or anything else for that matter to any NRP who doesn't pay what they should, when they should.

I think in this circumstance, the 'victom' was the kid, not to mention the PWC who's had to struggle without the financial support from the OP.

I guess you still believe in fairies at the bottom of you garden as well ;)

As a NRP I don't want your sympathy, I would however like my MA to be correct, which non have been. I have always paid the PWC more than 15% of my income.

Indeed, one of my mates pays regular and the csa have applied ghost arrears (which always came via a phone call but never in writing) , it appears they don't like or want to reduce the 1st pwc's MA to allow for a 2nd PWC.

Saying that I don't recall a NRP complaining that they are paying too little or a PWC complaining that they recieve too much

I have been summoned to court by the robbing csa for a liability order. Has any one had one served on them. It states i do not need to attend but i think i will any way. Once the order is served can the csa just keep asking for more and more money till i cant afford it. Does anyone know any companies who deal with the csa. I feel i am being bullied. I have been told i owe 13,000 grand which seems a hell of a lot, but after speaking on the phone they told me i might only owe six. Any help/advice would be grateful as i am absolutly shatting myself.

    Hi
I have a L O (oct 2007)but they have not collected any of it yet as I have appeal the assessments.

Ask the CSA to list where the arrears come from. They will ask for an amount in the L O, if it is wrong state in court it is. They should have evidence to back up the claim, if not ask the court for an adjournment til they have.
    Appeal the assessments if wrong.
    Good luck

  • In response to a couple of comments about incorrect MA - It seems to me that alot of incorrect maintenance amounts stem from the CSA not being kept informed of change of circumstances. For whatever the reason, naivety or ignorance of the system? I don't know.

I am well aware that the CSA make errors, however, it is not rocket science to ascertain the correct figure a NRP should be paying, either by using the CSA calculator or going by the 15,20,25% rules.

Okay, the CSA make mistakes, but we have a responsibility as NRP and PWC to make sure they have all of our facts. We also have an opportunity to appeal any decision we don't agree with.

Isn't it similar to your gas and electricity bills, if you don't allow them in to read your meters, you may get grossly inflated bills?

CM should be split between them. The 1st PWC in my case, was told by the csa, that how it is split 'had nothing to do with her' which didn't please her.

No, but there would still be a complaint from the other side via an appeal, so it still would be a wrong assessment.

  • When all the facts are known fully, there would be no such thing as a wrong assessment. Keep the CSA up to date, make them aware of any changes in circumstance to your situation
