also, if the system is accurate and efficient, how comes it costs 55p for every £ collected.

efficient government operations at their best.

the agency is a joke, which is why the government have given up and have passed the buck onto the pwc by pushing forwards with the latest set of regs.

I take you mean the option for benefit claimants to opt out of using the csa?

In my own personal opinion, there is going to be more long term gain for Government statistics in this one - pwc will be eventually switched from IS including child elements to the basic IS of £64pw plus tax credits.... now being as so many nrps on csa seem to pay around £600pm, there is going to be a big reduction in the IS bill.

Whereas from April, there will most probably be an increase in Income Support claimants again when they change the rules AGAIN and PWCs who weren't allowed to claim their full/any income support will reclaim as their child support won't affect IS anymore.

How could you possibly know that everything you read is a genuine fully factual situation - simple fact is, you don't.

Yes I agree the csa get things wrong sometimes, just not in the great numbers that some want to think.

Why is there so many posters on this forum ?

My case is a monumental f***up right from 1996 .Furnish the agency with details and it takes 2 1/2 years to notify me that they are pursuing money from me .£7000 arrears right away .
Making assumptions about my income another £10000 .
Liability orders for wrong amount .
I could write a book about them .

Maybe not as IS has become harder to stay on.
    When the changes will happen

These changes will be phased in over three years:
    • from 24 November 2008, if your youngest child is aged 12 or over, or will be 12 in the next year, your Income Support may stop during that year if you are only claiming it because you are a lone parent
    • from 26 October 2009, if your youngest child is aged ten or over, or will be ten in the next year, your Income Support may stop during that year if you are only claiming it because you are a lone parent
    • from 25 October 2010, if your youngest child is aged seven or over, or will be seven in the next year, your Income Support may stop during that year if you are only claiming it because you are a lone parent

tosh. what planet do you live on?????

all it has done is create a blackmail opportunity for the careeer pwc's to fleece the nrp and opened up the floodgates for the less honest pwc's to committ horrendous levels of benefit fraud.

i helped a guy a few weeks back who was paying his ex £400 a month cash to avoid csa involvement. she was also getting a further £300 cash off nrp2 as well.

that's £700 a month in cash that she wasn't declaring. i told him to do it via bank transfers labelled "child support" and to inform nrp2 to do it the same way. if she complained, simply stop paying and force her to use csa. they were both paying her more than 15% anyway so had nothing to lose.

she's spat her dummy out and is fuming cos if she declares it or there's a paper trail then she's stuffed.

i wonder how many more cases there are like this????

beware though. firstly you'll have to pay, and secondly, they're full of sheite.

the word "delusional" springs to mind.

too right, bunch of well meaning nutjobs if you ask me(been there done that), i did the data protection bit to see what files they held on me, wasn't much help, they went to the magestrate's court and got a £20,000 liability order against me without any proof that i owed them a penny as i had never even filled in an assesment form, i informed them all along that i am disabled with a degenerative condition, on benefits as im unable to work and have no assets/posessions they can take, they completely ignored me and got the order granted anyway, i recieved a letter form marstons about two weeks after they got the order granted threatening me with all manner of draconian penalities if i didnt pay up within 7 days
of reciept of the letter, i wrote back to them explaining that i was in there vulnerable circumstances grouping(because i am disabled and on benefits) and included a sworn and witnessed proof of ownership affadavit for my wifes posessions(house, car, motorbike etc),i haven't heard a sausage for about 6 months now, if you are a working taxpayer there is little you can do unfortunatley, they will get there pound of flesh one way or another, however, if you are unemployed and own nothing they can do nothing, i wish i could be of more help , i would suggest getting an affadavit sworn asap to protect your mum's/girlfriends/wifes/childrens assets before you get a letter from marstons, you are legally allowed to give away all and any posessions you have to anybody you like before the bailiffs get involved, if the order is due to be granted i would do this asap or they will rob you of everything you have, the onus is on you to prove the items are not yours, they dont have to believe you unless you have an affadavit sworn, it only costs a fiver and could save you everything
  • For those who have been in court did you use a solicitor?

As for the amount i owe. csa have still not phoned back with the exact amount i owe, either 6k or 13k. Surely they cannot ask for order to be granted for 13k if i only owe 6k. Csa had told me the amount owed is irrelevant.
I have asked that, as my second son to my wife was not taken into consideration till he was three, then i have not had my 5% deduction allowed. I have asked for this amount to be deducted from arrears. Csa told me it does not work like that. HOW CONVENIENT. Same convenience that they say they never recieved any info byway birth cert. Door only swings one way and its never in a just way.
Is it me or is the fact that you are only allowed 5% for your second child compared to 15% for your first is a way of saying that your second childs quality of life is not as valuable as your first.
Not sure what to expect in court. csa have basically said i go in listen to them ask for order ro be granted. order is granted and thats it. sounds a bit suss to me. What will happen if LO order is granted. what can i expect. I am paying my arrears off monthly but will they just keep upping it till they get everything off me. what do they want blood.

So did you actually inform the fraud hotline what is going on or did you just turn a blind eye to it?

    fraud hotline is a joke.

i reported my ex and even complained to my MP cos they'd done naff all. i'm still awaaiting a response to my complaint before i take it to the parliamentary ombudsmen.

i have also advised the nrp in the case i quoted to do the same, and to get nrp2 to do the same.
