Hi MissLauren, I'm in Australia too! (Although I am a Brit). I'm in Melbourne and we have been having the most ridiculously hot weather here. It was 30 degrees all night the other day, apparently the hottest night on record for 50 odd years or something....

Oops I got sidetracked! What I meant to start off with was, Hi Shoe Gal! :hello:
I have been lurking on MSE for a while but my New Year's Resolution was to actually post something. So here I am. :o

Just really wanted to say that I think you're doing a fab job, every little baby step in the right direction counts, and look at how many of us you are inspiring! Keep up the good work hon. I know it's hard in winter - I basically moved to Oz because I'm solar powered and couldn't cope with another English winter! I just hibernate and eat as much food as I can see and wait for the sunshine. Not good for the waistline or the mojo, but very hard to fight. I even get it a bit in Melbourne in winter, but luckily not as badly - it gets cold here but it does stay pretty bright and light during the days. Not like when I lived in Manc and I just had my curtains permanently drawn and my lights on all day for about 6 months of the year! I do miss Manchester though, after Newcastle (where my hubby is from and we lived before we came to Oz), it's my favourite place. In fact OH said if he was ever going to leave Newcastle it would be to live in Manc; a very big call for a Geordie! :rotfl:

Not a very good day - and I have just treated myself to pizza for dinner :o Put £1 in 365 account and amended my total debt after getting my CC statements - glad to be back under £25k - but still a long way to go

Feeling a bit 'bleugh' - so fed up with struggling to work in snow and ice, and being so cold all the time. And getting behind with work stuff - getting in late and finishing early because of the weather

Going to take myself off to bed and read my book - at least it's warm there :D

  • Enjoy your book Shoe Gal - what are you reading?

Don't worry about the pizza, if we don't treat ourselves occasionally then it makes it even harder to go without. Well done on getting under £25k too :)

Not done much the last few days - just work and sleeping (although I'm not doing that very well )

Have kept up the 365 account and my spending diary, and haven't done too badly foodwise. Weigh in tomorrow - am hoping I've lost something this week  Still not managed any exercise :o

Glad it's weekend - am working tomorrow morning and intend to be productive at home as well, loads of domestic stuff to do. And I might treat myself to a mooch round the shops :D The snow is finally clearing - feel as if I've hardly been out for weeks!

Fingers crossed for the weightloss Shoe Gal, this weather isn't very motivating for diets though, comfort food all round. I love pizza but try not to have it often as can easily eat the whole lot. Enjoy the mooch at the shops, I always buy when I mooch so try not to do that either! Not much of a life without pizza and shopping is it! Have a nice nite x
