Can't you just email them the bill? That's what I've been doing. So far I'm 2 for 2, with the 3rd bill/cashback claim due this month. It's all been very straight forward, with no reliance on Royal Mail.
    Hi Sponge,
I don't think that a delay from Royal Mail is the problem ....it would seem they are saying it should have been the previous bill that Jimmy should have sent in. In which case it would not matter if it was sent in by Pony Express they would still try it on !!!
It's not just about the money
  • This could be because they chose to ignore a flaw in their own t&c which they have now attempted to alter in the current version (pretending the actual t&c you signed up to weren't t&c which - of course! - they are). If you ordered the phone at the end of May but it wasn't connected until June (no matter if they tell you otherwise - they lie!) under YOUR t&c your claim is perfectly correct and should be paid. It is not late and if they don't pay it you will be able to successfully sue. If you ordered in June and were connected in June then they can't try and muddy the waters (as they do) arguing the order date is the same as the connection date (it isn't despite anything they tell you) OR by referring to their CURRENT t&c which are worded differently. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks MJ, I emailed Ben and to his credit it was resolved this morning and a cheque is being sent (fingers crossed) As you rightly point out I bought the phone in May and wasn't connected until June, so they must have been working on the order dates rather than the connection date (another thing I fell foul of when I tried to cancel my tech support and insurance contracts with them - my fault, but it wasn't clear) I'm still unsure as to which dates to claim on in the future, I'm going to ask Ben for clarification. Cheers for you help, great forum.:T
  • I have to say i've just finished a spell with m.c.u and had no problems with them, i do have to agree that it is confusing on their website, the claimback page is a nightmare, i too struggled when it said this information is for phones ordered before 16th sept 2009. click here for information after this date.
    SO VAGUE!!!!!!!!
  • I was under the perhaps wrong impression that I was waiting for a claim slip before submitting my first. The T&C now on the site are as above and state just send in your bill at the right point. This now means that I've missed the first claim unless they accept a late one.

Am I remembering incorrectly or can anyone else recall the same?!!!!
  • No claim forms. Depending on when you took out the contract you might have 60 days to claim though - assuming you've worked out the right bill. People really need to understand the t&c they sign up to beforehand, especially when dealing with any cpw company. Since they often ignore their own t&c it's very important that you know (and can prove should it become necessary) what yours are.

    Hi there,

The website is very clear about which date is the date we work from, ie the date on the invoice we despatch with the phone. There is a picture of this on the site to make it 100% obvious (which is the "change" MJ is referring to above - the addition of a picture to make things clearer), this has always been the date we use and is referred to as the "connection date" because it is the date we connect the phone to the network prior to despatching it from the warehouse.

All claims submitted in line with T&Cs in effect at time of ordering (which have changed once in the past 3 years, ie the move to 60 days) are paid out, with no exception. We understand fully that a customer who makes the effort to claim should be paid and would never deliberately do anything to delay your claim submissions.

Any evidence of ignoring T&Cs would be welcomed, especially from MJ, but none has ever been forthcoming so please take his advice with caution (he is wrong about connection dates earlier in this thread, for instance).

  • I have provided evidence on many things - failure to pay a valid claim, failure to comply with your own t&c, failure to honour deals on your website, failure to meet the promises on your website and an outright lie about what was never on your website even though I have a copy showing it was.

But then you will always misrepresent me. Without my assistance at least one of the people I order for would have been denied a valid claim. Without my assistance on other cpw companies numerous others would have been ripped off by cpw. Without my intervention your previous answer to a similar question on here (with more specific dates provided to you) would have led them to claim a month LATE for their cashback.

Trust this rep and believe all the nonsense at your peril.

So you are running a commission racket for yourself no doubt?
Anyone entering a cashback deal should do it with their own understanding of the t&c rather than second hand opinion - imho.
  • We agree on that much. The fact is though that most people don't and many end up looking for help on here. No commission by the way.

Honestly MJ, you have never shared this evidence with me because if you had I would have investigated. No valid claim should ever be denied but if you won't share order numbers then I can't investigate. And what was on the site that you have a copy of, that we claim wasn't?

Happy to investigate, not happy to be labelled crooks with no right of reply or way to use your alleged experiences to improve our service.
