Are DHL even bothering to deliver since it snowed 2 weeks ago?

Options
I've been expecting a parcel on next day delivery that was dispatched from my supplier on 20th December. The roads have been fine - even I've been out on them. The postie and UPS have got through. Where is my parcel from DHL then??

I had to let some of my customers down for Xmas presents which I do not feel good about, those that have been refunded mean lost sales for a small business as I still have to pay for those items which are ordered as the customer requires them.

Their website says they are aiming to deliver by 31st December due to 'adverse weather conditions'. What? Rain?? There has been no snow in this area since the 19th December. Pathetic excuse if you ask me!! Is anyone else having the same problems with them??

Everyone else has been able to deliver so why not DHL?

Not a clue BM we have about 6 inches of the white stuff and a further 2 fell overnight but DHL delivered me a box today dispatched from my supplier yesterday morning.

Thanks lilac, so they can deliver in the snow, must be the rain putting them off. I am even more annoyed now I know that though, LOL.
  • OP I'm in the same boat, but with UPS. Parcels collected on 20 December for next day delivery and still haven't been delivered yet. I have already received negative feedback on ebay for two of them (left on Xmas Day!) so I'm really annoyed.

I got three parcels from them yesterday for Christmas presents that should have been here on the 21st. I refused one of them, accepted one and the second delivery wouldn't allow me to refuse it but said someone else would come and pick it up.

I'm really disappointed with them this year. My online business has been done some real damage by them. Still not arrived!!!

Yay, I got it. Finally. No, not called them. I usually get some pre-recorded gumpf anyway when I call them. I do not think I've ever spoken to a real person from DHL. I do think they should have made more of an effort. I spoke to someone subbed by DHL in the week before Xmas as he had 3 days worth of parcels sitting on his van as he could not access side roads Personally I would have walked to ensure some of the customers got the stuff they needed for Xmas. I just do not think people wanted to go to work in the snow.

Easy to say as you gaze out at the snow from a warm house. Having slipped around on icy pavements for a couple of days last week I certainly would not have wanted to carry a parcel as well.

it's not just snow covering pavements at the moment - along the road from me is a huge area of ice covering pavements and the road, it's had no sun on it at all and very little traffic so its just a sheet of ice lying there, getting frost covered overnight and nothing else, the gritters havent even gritted it

I appreciate that. But why can some carriers (including Royal Mail) manage (albeit with difficulties) and yet others can't!!
