Brown pledges a decade of prosperity

In his speech today, Brown is expected, or will, pledge a decade of "fair prosperity" while warning that the tories would damage the economy and go for a period of austerity.

How can he actually do what he says? Is there a way? More debt?
Mr Brown's message will outline priorities for the coming year - in which Labour will seek to be re-elected for a fourth successive term.
These will include cutting the deficit, reforming public services, cleaning up politics, and "maintaining Britain's global strength".
'Privileged few'
He will pledge to create "fairly shared" prosperity - and contrast that with those "who say we must plan for a decade of austerity and unfairness where the majority lose out while the privileged few protect themselves".
He wants to cut, but also wants prosperity and warns of austerity?

He's going to once again bang on about technology and high speed rail. All the things that the party has been banging on about for the previous 10 years and nothing has changed.

Not content with bankrupting the country Brown expects another chance. He does not deserve one. At least Alistair Darling understands the problems we are faced however Brown overrules him on a rise on VAT and undermines him by wanting to replace him last summer.

A fiscal squeeze does not compromise growth. Brown is lying once again.

Brown also told us "no more boom and bust" and that prudence was a virtue to be rewarded.
