  • Have just spoken to Argos CS and as previously mentioned they quote thier terms and conditions and legal teams. I responded with rights and sales of goods act, offer and acceptance as payment had been made, which got me nowhere. The manager (kerry) was polite but not budging and gave me address to make writen complaint.

Hung up and called trading standards, they advised writing to Argos stating the facts and refer to claiming for loss of bargain, ask for response within 7 days etc. The chap gave me a ref no and said he would refer case to TS local team.

I am wondering if letter could be drafted with all the correct legal phrase for everyone to send?
Also for others to contact Trading Standards??
  • Also!!!!

Why should other companys have the decency to honour Argos mistake and they themselves do not??

There must be lots of kids very upset tonight having there hopes dashed, many using thier Christmas money to purchase.

It's still on the website because their pricing system appears to run on a nightly import (which is common), so the price will likely update by tomorrow.

I'll make sure I'm up earlier for the next pricing error then :D

damm is this thread still going on? or do you honestly feel that a mistake on a website should legally entitle you to buy something.

damm people, move on. it was a mistake, it was corrected hours ago...

It's not just a mistake on a website. I have ordered by phone which has gone through and is being delivered tomorrow (hopefully). Loads of other people have purchased instore. The website is irrelevant to those purchases.

If you aren't interested in it, don't look at it - simple as that.

The manageress in the store I went into said it was still on the website because they couldn't change it until midnight.

I can't get into the tracking system at all now it says to they cannot retrieve my order so I assume its cancelled - not even the curtesy of a phonecall.

I have just checked my status and it still says I'm receiving it tomorrow, they must have had alot more than 140,as surely it wouldn't take that long to contact everyone who ordered by phone!?
I will fight to the death!!!!!!!!!!
