    Hi there
This could have been my diary!! I shall subscribe and follow with interest. I too have a load of scrapbooking stash and my plan while I am on maternity leave is very similar. If I can make pressies I will, and also plan to make some cards and other crafting items to sell.

Do you have any idea where the best place is to try and sell handmade things. I've looked at etsy but not really sure how it works. You have enthused me to make a list of all my supplies later and see what I can make out of them.

    Hi everyone,

Well 2010 is here and my resolutions are in full swing. I have'nt managed to get any tidying done as yet as we ended up visiting my family for New Years and have only just got back but hubby has today off so am hoping that he will amuze the children so I can get some tidying done.

However I am a happy bunny as I have not yet spent anything on craft despite having a look at some sale sites and being really tempted by the ATC cd from Joanna Sheen for only £5 and watching Create & Craft on TV for a little while last night but I have resisited! Its a miracle!!!!

I have been on Quidco quickly this morning and got £2.46 tracking from no spends Gleamed from this site) so once this pays out my earnt total will be up and running.

I also managed to get some great photos noff my mums camera card of Christmas which I intend to print out today so I can get on with my scrapbooking tonight after kids have gone to bed.

Finally for now in reply to aliwali post i too am not sure of the best place to sell my handmade items. I thought that i would look into Etsy, Ebay and other places such as local craft fairs etc so any advice any other crafters have would be greatly appreviated.

Well if i don't post for a while you know that I have been buried alive under my crafting stash pile!!!!!!!!

    Happy Crafting!!!!!!

  • Craftingmad- well done on avoiding spending money!
As a crafter myself I know how hard it is to not buy bits and pieces however a few pounds here and there can add up.

Tidying your craft room will probably make a huge difference as when I have been looking through my stash recently I've found things I forgot I had (and my stash only fills one cupboard!)

Have you made scrapbooks for friends and family in the past? If not then this is a great idea for a present, particularly if there are any 'big' birthdays coming up

Also every time you are tempted to buy some craft materials but manage to resist put the money you would have spent into a sealed pot- at the end of the year/month you will hopefully be surprised be what has accumulated and this could go towards the morgage.

Good luck with your resolutions and get crafting :)

I have just started a blog which shows some photos of my crafting room (oh my god I am so embarressed!!!) so if you all want a peak (it will at least make all the rest of you crafters realise that your rooms are great in comparison!!!!) you will find it at:-

Oh my, we may not hear from you for a while then! I'm kind of glad I don't have a craft room otherwise it would look exactly the same as yours as I am very untidy. I just have a cupboard in the dining room so it is all hidden away.

Hope you uncover lots of useful things.

I made it alive !!!! I managed to tidy my desk yesterday and found some little treasures I had forgotton about including a lovely little scrapbook album which will make a great present, some stickers, a stamp and a flower cuttlebug die. I also found lots of photos which I sorted through and found several good ones which are in my to be scrapped pile.

Plus as an added bonus I found £1.22 sitting on my desk so my "earnt" total is off and running - yippee!!!!!!!!!

It did take me most of the day though just to tidy the desk so did'nt manage to get any scrapbooking done. I have posted a pic of my new and tidy (well tidy for me) desk on my blog mentioned above so you can all see I was doing something yesterday!!!

Oooh, almost forgot - I also sorted through some craft stuff I had bought from QVC's last craft day before new year and Avon stuff I had bought as gifts and not given away plus perfume bought for me but I'm allergic to it so am going to return all of that. My Avon rep comes on 6th Jan so will give it back to her to get a further £30 for the total plus once QVC credit back I will get £103.69 (told you I was addicted!) less postage costs. Off to the Post Office for me tomorrow.

Well not sure what to tackle next but will dutifully do a bit more now the tidying bug has hit me!!!!!!

I also made a card for my mother-in-law yesterday and have one for my dad to make today as its his birthday on 5th Jan.

    Happy crafting everyone. x

Oohhh I'm on a roll - I have just tidied the wall next to the desk and am feeling good. Its starting to look a bit more organised (as long as you only look at the wall I have tidied!) and I actually know where some things are!!!!! Its a miracle!!!!!!

I'm so excited as whilst I was tidying today I came across 3 wooden plaques which I had totally forgotton about and will make fantastic pressies for people once I have decorated them up so might try and do something with them tonight or on Tuesday (when my little girl is back at school) to start the present total running.

I have also found a further 62p in the corner just sorted and two more items to go back to QVC (another £33.40 less postage) for the "earnt" total once they are credited back.

Wayhooooooo!!!!!!! I'm feeling like a new woman!!!

    Morning crafters,

Well still no scrapbook pages done yet but I dud come across a pack of felt flowers yesterday which came free with a magazine and I was inspired to make some hair bobbles so made a total of 7 bobbles yesterday so thats good for two presents - I'm off and running!!!!!!

Little girl has a friend round to play today so not expecting to be able to get any tidying done until later. Might do some crafting with the kids later though so who knows if I will be able to make anything.

Just posted some pictures of the bobbles on my blog - http://craftingmad.wordpress.com/. Thought I might also make some for some craft fairs I am intending to book. Do you think they will sell and how much for?
