2010 Resolutions - My Crafty Diary

My husband and I are currently overpaying an extra £400 a month on our £125k mortgage in order to try and clear it off early.
As I am a stay at home mum of two who currently earns £0 this money comes from my husband who has a well paid job but I have decided that in 2010 I want to be able to pay off a lump sum towards the mortgage, so I have decided to set myself some resolutions and keep a diary on this site so you can all track (and I'm sure laugh at) my progress.
I would point out now that a craftaholic and that I have previously spent an absolute fortune on crafting stash in the past and have a craft room full to bursting.
Ok my resolutions are:-
1. To tidy my craft room and keep it tidy (this should hopefully enable me to see what i have and stop me buying anymore).
2. To only spend £500 on crafting stash during 2010. I know this sounds a lot but I have been known to spend £5000 in a year so I have set myself a hopefully realistic target. This amount equates to £40 a month plus a £20 bonus once the craft room is tidy. Any money spend on items to tidy up / storage for the craft room are not included in this amount.
3. To “earn” £2010 during the year 2010 by any means I can such as Ebay, Car Boots, selling items I have crafted etc, quidco or saving money on items such as food, bills etc.
4. To scrapbook more (I have loads of pictures of the kids which are just crying out to be scrapped – and loads of stash to do it!!!)
5. To make most of the presents for friends/ family for next Christmas to save money to put towards the mortgage
Well as I’ve got a couple of days left I might just have another quick look at the online craft sales!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy 2010 and happy crafting

Welcome!
Sounds like you have a plan, Craftingmad! I'm sure you can justify your crafting if you sell what you make!
I look forward to reading (and laughing at!!) your diary.
Good luck,

Hi
I am a scrapbooker too - and one with a messy craft room - although I did clear itout yesterday and it looks tons better.
I am going to sort a few bits out to ebay as I have tons of stuff too!0 -
Good luck with it! I'm trying to clear out my bead room as well, but every corner I go through just seems to result in a mess somewhere else

I'm a "recently-returned-to-knitting" knitter and reslove not to buiy anymore yarn without having a specific project in mind for it. I also want to get a nice big-ish basket to sotre my wool stash in in my new hoosie!!
For card-making, thankfully all my stuff fitts in one big organised bag (sorry......) but I've got a couple of friends like you who love buying craft stuff!! I can only imagine what you;re craft room is like!
Snowy:j I feel I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe :j0
