  • Not for food but need to buy alchohol tonight ready for tomorrow! We didn't over do it with buying food either this year but luckily have been invited out for dinners a lot this time so still have lots left. :)

I haven't shopped since the 22nd on that day I managed to get some amazing milk that has a best before of 1/1/2010 - in fact it was harder to get ready meals with decent dates!

I might go tomorrow - simply because I'm going out tomorrow so its easy to pop into the supermarket. I'm not working next week either so I need more food than usual (whereas I'd normally eat at work and by less).

I think its nice that most supermarkets were closed Boxing Day to give staff a break although I can't imagine how awful the car park queues would be though if they closed for more than 2 days at a time - the queues before Christmas tend to be mad!
  • I gave in and went food shopping today. Our xmas shop was on the 21st. The main reason to go shopping was some bits and pieces for meals but mainly had to get stuff in for work lunches etc. Not planning to go food shopping again till a week on Saturday.

  • Went to Morrisons last night to get a couple of bits and couldnt get out of there fast enough. I hate it when the supermarkets are this busy - is the world really going to end.

Have to face them in the next couple of days as my daughter is having a birthday party for 40 on Saturday and need to get the food in. Luckily got everything else in.

I've still been going most days- but thats because I tend to survive on the reduced sell by date food and although some has lasted (I bough loads of fruit salad on Xmas eve which lasted long enough for me to eat the last packet on the 28th and may have lasted longer still!) But main bits and peices like Quorn, fish and milk I've not needed more of since Xmas eve.
Daily all I've needed has been fruit and the occasional protein bar!

Weve been using the village deli for fresh bread this week the local Spar for a paper and juice and only been to the greengrocers for fresh greens for the rabbit and guineas!

My parents shopped before Christmas on the 24th when Sainsburys was fairly quiet.

Parents might venture to a supermarket Sat? Not needed other foods as still well stocked and been doing lots of nice home cooking whilst off work.

  • I've not been to a supermarket since the 23rd. I sent OH up to the local shop for some milk yesterday, and I might go out later to see if there are any reductions, but really there's no need to, we have plenty in. I just wanted to have a look at Sainsbury's non food sale stuff and might as well have a squizz around the yellow label food too ;).

    It's only a game
