Anyone else not food shopped since before Christmas?

We really cut down on what food we bought in for Christmas this year. We had eleven for Christmas day dinner and eleven for Boxing day buffet. Despite this we have still plenty to eat for the next few days. I have not been near a supermarket or any other food shop since 23rd Dec.

Just wondering really are there others who haven't shopped for a week? I feel so sorry for people who work in supermarkets which open over the holiday period ( My daughter for one ) Surely it cannot be necessary.

I did a little bit yesterday. We were away at the in-laws' house over Christmas so had to empty the fridge of anything perishable before we left, so I just needed a few bits and pieces.

I went to Tesco at lunchtime today to buy a bottle of squash for work and was absolutely shocked at how busy it was. The shops close for a day and people start panic buying.
  • I went and did my usual monthly food shop yesterday at ASDA, but it was definitely much busier than it would usually be (even for payday) and there were big notices up to say customers could only buy 6 packs of bread rolls each...why people have to buy hundreds of bread rolls because the shops shut for 24 hours is beyond me...

On the plus side there was LOADS of reduced meat so have been able to stock up the freezer for January/February (not just because the shops are shut for a whole day for new year, honest!)

DH has been in for bread and milk a couple of times but I haven't been back since Christmas. Have to go in tomorrow with DS & DD. Apparently the weather is due to turn a bit wintery down the south east at the weekend so will ensure I have a few meal planned and a couple of extra tins in.

Got my delivery on the 21st, not been in a supermarket since. I bought enough milk/bread and froze it. I hate shops at the best of times. Shops at Christmas are hideous:o

We will need milk and bread before Thursday, otherwise we haven't shopped since 21st December.
