Anyone else not food shopped since before Christmas?

We bought a few last minute bits on Christmas Eve, and with that and the Riverford meat and veg delivery two days earlier, we're still fine. I have meals planned and ingredients in until at least 7 January, though only two pints of milk left in the freezer.
Tomorrow, as we're popping out anyway, I will grab some mushrooms, as they're too bulky to keep in the fridge in the quantities we go through them. And I will get some milk, too. Got four bunches of green bananas, usually £1.29 each for 32p each on Christmas Eve, so we're fine for the breakfast smoothies, too!
Well done everyone on such good planning and not joining the panic buyers. My Mum has always worked in retail, and this year, for the first year ever, she was allowed to take some holiday over the Christmas period, so was able to go and see her grandchildren. I'm so happy for her - I think it's a disgrace shops opening on Boxing Day, for heaven's sake, can they never give it a rest?!!0 -
Not shopped since 21st (thank goodness, I hate shopping), will probably need to go on 4th Jan when back to work for butty stuff for mine and hubbys lunches. Ummm could we have chocolate - got plenty of that!Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0

I got my last biggish shop on the 22nd, popped in for salad stuff on the 24th then nothing but milk from the corner shop till yesterday when I went to the supermarket for ketchup and some baked beans. I'll probably go tomorrow to have a look for whoopsies though, and to pick up enough basics to see us through till the middle of next week.Val.0

A swede because I'd forgotten to get one for the turkey stew, and then ran out of turkey!! as I'd given some away to mum and daughter who didnt cook xmas day - so then bought 2 reduced lamb legs half price in COOP. Cooked 1 in slow cooker for roast yesterday with stew (and swede!) today. Gave other one to the other daughter. We're on a £40 week max for all food/papers/milk til the end of January as its such a good way to clear the freezer and cupboards.
I just detest wastage and to see some people's trolleys makes me want to puke. Its not possible to consume the amounts some people had even if they had invited the whole street for all of Xmas. Its wicked.:mad:0 -
just milk and wildbird seed today only so that I can avoid the shops for another week if possible.0

Thanks for all replies. Just shows it really is madness for supermarkets to be open on Boxing day. When I was a child Mum had to stock up well for Christmas as shops could be shut for the best part of the week, if Christmas day fell on a Saturday and you had all the add on Bank Holidays. That was in the days before freezers were the norm as well.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0

We went food shopping on the 24th and still have tons left. Went to visit OH's family from the 27th-29th and came back with a big bag of donated food from his mum lol - ham, packet of bacon, packet of butter, block of cheese, cheese triangles, lettuce, 6 frozen t-bone steaks, tube of pringles, 4 smirnoff ices and a blue wkd lol
oh and an entire set of dinner/side/dessert plates as OH commented that he liked them!

Went out today to get some bread and bacon, brought some fruit salad (enough for 2 generous portions) reduced to 49p in Morrisons. Really went out just for the walk - oh and to get a paper OH has to have a paper every day one is printed!!Slightly bitter0

We wnet shopping on 23rd dec and brought a normal weeks food then went today and again brought a normal weeks food. Apart from sausages in bacon and christmas pudding it is just normally shopping for us. My fridge/freezer is not big enough to hold enough food for the 6 of us for very long. Its mainly the milk we have trouble storing0
