Ok, in the router settings, is it set to WPA-PSK and TKIP?
and is the key longer than 10 characters, or exactly that - the box can hold upto 63 characters, some off screen.!!

I tried again this morning - did exactly what I did last night, but success !! the new lappy has internet ! ** ( Maybe I missed something last night, I was frazzled ).
