OP is that quote to supply and fit?.If you give a few more details posters will be able to give you more advice.
I'm booked in to fit a Howdens Studio Sage Kitchen in February there are 17 units(including 2 pull out larder units) in total the quote I have for supply only is £2,800.Admittedly that doesn't include any appliances .Its about 6 days work max for me including ripping out the existing kitchen and stripping the tiles off the walls. The only thing that lets Howdens down ais the worktops are not great quality.
One of the sheds priced up the kitchen with a lesser kitchen and the price came in at £3,500 supply only and they wanted £6,500 to fit it:eek:
Be very wary of shed prices for fitting. They cream off 50%,sub contract to a middleman who takes his/her cut ,who then sub contracts it to a fitter...........Shocking..;)0 -
I don't think I'm going to take too much notice of the plan- even though my husband did pay £50! I've just noticed that there is only one drawer in the whole kitchen. The whole plan needs re-doing which I'm just about to do. The price by the way did not include any appliances at all. The cooker hood was £250 (the only electrical work to do). Then they wanted about £700 for various electricity related work!!!0

When you get your next set of plans say you want "drawerline" (door with drawer above - same carcasses still)..should be simple enough for them to swap between the two as wickes swapped their initial doorline plan to drawerline for us. Ask for some 3D printouts as well as a plan to help you visualise it ..then you can post them on here too for further feedback.0

Hi Curlywurli
If I were you I would steer well clear of all the DIY stores as they are very limited as to the size of the units/doors they do, for example I believe that Wickes still don't do a 450 mm appliance door! So your slimline integrated dishwasher from them would need to have a 500mm door on it. Look for an Independent Kitchen Specialist local to you as hopefully you will find a much better service and a far better designer. Go for a recommendation from friends and family, alternatively look on the Miele and Neff websites to find a kitchen specialist near you, as to have an account with one of these manufacturers should demonstrate a reasonable level of competence.
Also I would not entertain any of the dish drawer machines like the F&P or Kitchen aid as I have never found anyone that has been pleased with theirs, and replaced many with conventional Neff and Miele ones.
Good luck

We've just had the surveyor round to check our measurements for the kitchen. He was here for two hours! My measurements were fine apart from one which meant we had 20 cm more. The surveyor had to rejig a couple of cabinets, including where the sink was. He basically spent two hours reorganising the kitchen plans.
I'm a lot happier than I was, but I still can't have my dishwasher(something about it sticking out). I don't know why they just couldn't send someone out to do the plan at home for us- it would have been so much easier (they advertise that they do, but they told us they didn't). I'll have to wait and see what the new cost is- he managed to add another four units, but he agreed that we didn't need to pay for all that electrical work.

Just been having a similar dishwasher debate in our own kitchen. Basically, my need is for a dishwasher and a washer/dryer and it has been a bit tricky. In order to fit both in I needed to put the dishwasher under our hob, and the washing machine under the sink drainer (limited outside wall capacity).
Decided it's worth spending the extra money for moving our back door from the middle to the other end, and expanding the window above the sink. This means more units on the outside wall so we can have a sink, dishwasher and washing machine all next to each other. We're hoping all this, including a bit of remedial work as we have some mould hiding under the sink will come to £6k, new appliances and all. That includes flooring and plastering etc.
We're going with Howdens, fortunately someone in my family has a trade account so we can negotiate prices directly and just pay for fitting.
There's not a chance I would accept a kitchen design based on someone who hasn't even visited my kitchen - I wouldn't want the responsibility that my measurements were wrong.I love surprises!0 -
Well, now we're really annoyed  As I mentioned, we had the surveyor round, he did the plans again, all looked great. Had a phone call this morning- to go in and pay. We asked if we could look at what it looks like now.
Basically the man in store has made two changes- one the width of a cupboard and secondly taken a unit off the wall (which looks really weird). He has completely ignored all of the surveyors work, including the size of space given for the cooker. He's completely wasted our time.
We let them know that we were fuming and they just kept making excuses. We can't go back until next Sunday to try and get it sorted out. As soon as we left I said to my husband that I'm not buying it from there now. I have no confidence left in that store. Even my husband says he wants the £50 back.0 -
Go into the store, tell them that you have lost confidence in their service and demand your money back. So far all they have done is provide you with plans, plans which should actually be free anyway. Perhaps go to a bespoke kitchen designer and get them to draw up free no obligation quotations. We did. They sent around a designer, asked us what we wanted and what look we were after and a week later we had hand drawn and 3d plans in our hands, it looked beautiful, and far superior and cheaper than the DIY shops. We've moved since, but now I design and plan them myself. DIY shops have no interest in your kitchen, they are interested only in your money!!Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs
30lb lost of 30lb by June 2012 :j:j:j (80lb overall goal)0 -
Dont know if you are still looking but Ikea do a 45cm dishwasher, I'm having one. spent ages going through Homebase, was quote 4500 for kitchen in their "sale" £3300 for fitting. now getting from IKEA, 2600 for kitchen and £500 for fitting using a local joiner. HTH0
