Digital Camera

Hi,
I want to return a camera I got last friday I have tried to get on with it and have even took it to someone I work with who teaches camera workshops and it doesn't take pictures as clear as our old camera.
I just want to know what my rights are for returning it tomorrow due to camera not being up to my expectations?
It is a week old I have all the packaging and will replace the batteries I used when I got it.
Thanks for any advice
Jen

If it doesn't work then take it back where you bought it with the receipt any they will exchange it.

From a shop or distance selling?
If distance selling you can just return within your rights within 7 days from day after reciept.
If from a shop you have no legal rights to return unless faulty (i.e. not fit for purpose or not as described) and you are returning under sale of goods act. Most shops operate a reasonable policy for customers who have changed their minds.

If it doesn't fit it's intended purpose you are entitled to a refund.

I am sure after 6 months a repair or an exchange you agree to.

Its not damaged or defective in any way it is just too complicated to use and unfortunately the auto settings aren't great so you have to mess around with the manual ones to get a half decent picture which I don't want and wouldn't of bought it if I had known.
The annoying thing is all the reviews for it were good.
Oh well I will take it in tomorrow and hope for the best.

As others have said... you can only return an item from a store if it is faulty or doesnt measure up to the sales literature, you have no legal right to return an item simply because you dont like it or because it isnt as good as you thought it would be. The exception to this is for mail order where you can return it within the first 7 days as long as it remains in A1 condition (assuming it is being returned under the distance selling regs and not a fault)
