Iv'e been trying to sign into MSN messenger for a few days now but it freezes up before it signs me in. Anyone have any ideas if its a problem with MSN or my PC? I have un installed the only thing thats been installed lately but its still not signing me in. I have version 7.5 if that helps.
I thought I perhaps needed an update but I seem to have the most recent version, if I'm wrong please let me know.
Is Windows live messenger the same as MSN messenger? Iv'e seen that online and wonder if I should get thayt instead, if indeed it is different.
Thanks

this is a recurring problem with version 7.5, go to add/remove programs and uninstall it and then go here
http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=msnm
and download and install version 7, this is 99% the same as 7.5 and should cure the problem

I downloaded and installed version 7 but can't sign into that either.
Any more suggestions please?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I would uninstall Messenger 7 or whatever and install Messenger 8 dont worry about the new name, and check any firewall settings also is the PCs clock correct,
Also try this, Start, Run, Type cmd then Type, ipconfig /flushdns0 -
yes...the clock, forgot that

We downloaded the MSN live and my daughter couldn't sign in, so we reverted back to 7.5 and it was fine, did this several times as she really wanted the new live version but it wouldn't let her sign in, so she will have to make do with 7.5

I had this exact problem. Sent details to MSN help via MSN passport, and was sent a reply within the day, from someone called Sunshine! Can't fail with a name like that.
The solution that they gave solved the problem, and no probs since.
Would you like me to find the answer, or will you contact MSN yourself?
