Shes done well getting to 94 and still smoking.
Cigs have gone up loads the last couple of weeks.
That was why she wanted to get out of hospital- she wouldn't go outside for a fag:o It's a bit toxic at times in her flat- as she smokes with doors, windows shut and central heating on full blast:eek: After a visit everything stinks of smoke.:o
But it is her place and she is comfy and whatnot- so we let her get on with it.
Nothing much to report today moneywise. I just have a lot of work to do.:oBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I hope you noticed i have slowed down on scrabble:D I am not concentrating enough, although i did get 122 against my cousin:D
Busy day today and felt like a lot of my work was for nothing yesterday-nuff said:cool:
So today is the start of a new month and has already proven ok with mucho reduced Direct debits:D
I have also found myself with an extra £108 i had put aside to repay a small card of Mr.B's and then i realised i had already paid it:o:rotfl: So off something else it goes:beer:
Had to spend out on petrol but it is reclaimable, so all good there.
Other than that the beginning of a new grocery challenge. I am aiming for £200 again which i think is very doable- especially after last month.
Other good news Quidco cashback- all of 60p but it is 60p i don't have to find:D
I also received a letter saying that my fixed rate deal with EON is going to end in March. Now i am very much better off re DD for gas and electric only being £42- there is no way i want that to increase. They have offered me a new fixed tarrif, but i am going to look around just in case;) If only i could take advantage of quidco cashback for a new EON customer- pah!:rotfl:
So that's my news for the day. Off for a quick mooch then lesson planning, then reading and online tuition stuff, then reading for masters....then parents evening for DD2 -then collapsing in a heap with a brew:D:rotfl:
Chow for now-( how old is that saying??:rotfl:) Bob xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I must have had a brain storm or something....it's all these bank accounts and saving pots. They are muddling me up a bit, still once i get used to them it will be fine.:rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hi Bob
You're doing exactly the right thing in looking around for the best deal. I would suggest popping your annual usage on to one of the comparison sites and see what benefits you most.
You can find your usage on our bills. Alternatively, give us a call and we will be happy to tell you.
Sounds like you are currently on one of our Price Protection products. With these, you pay more initially for the assurance that we will not increase your prices during the term of the agreement.
Also, prices on these products are capped rather than fixed. This means if our prices come down then so will these.
The replacement we have offered will be a similar type of arrangement with protected prices. This, too, will initially have higher prices than some of our other products.
It may be you no longer want this type of product and prefer savings now rather than in the future. For example, we have other tariffs available with better discounts for managing your account online.
As I said above, have a look at the comparison sites. Our products will be listed there along with those of the other suppliers. This way, you can choose the best deal for you. :money:
Just a heads up Bob; if you decide to switch supplier then please be aware that we don't give discount on final bills. Therefore, it will benefit you to time a move away to lessen the impact of this.
Hope this helps a little. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

Malc
Thanks very much for all the info Malc. I was wondering if one of you would reply-
Have to say that i have received very good service from your company and have had little cause to complain. I will certainly look into all the plans and see which best suits our need at the moment. It is important to my budget that the price for the DD doesn't fluctuate.
On other moneysaving news- Mr.B declares the train a success, less stress and there in plenty of time. Back earlier too and for once he is awake in the evenings- don't know whether that's a good thing or not:eek::rotfl: Still it is money in the bank as far as i am concerned:T:j
Course tonight was hard work but beats GGuides- so study wins there too:D:rotfl:
Have dibbed into grocery budget by £3.50 as ran out of a few things- they will keep eating won't they?:rotfl:
Online banking good- have paid off two small cards with surplus. So Mr.B's burtons card gone ( i know- but it was annoying me) Comet card had a £13 surplus before Christmas so i used that plus an extra £8 for a Christmas pressie- that has been paid off. Letters have been sent closing both cards.:D
I paid the rest off argos card which was used for some furniture for DD1 a while ago- and we are now paying interest on it:o apparently argos don't allow BT to some companies- but there is a £500 balance, which could be cleared at the end of the month, providing i have extra work. So that is my next target. It is small but attracts the highest rate of interest:o
I could clear it with DD2's Uni fund, but i am loathe to dip into that until i am certain i have the extra monies coming in-if that makes sense. I need to know i can replace it if i do use it and i want that money for her:o
So that is the position tonight- orf to play with budgets. Bob xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

well done Bob - sounds like you are rock and rolling in 2010
I really have no problems wioth EoN - you do just need to watch that you are on their current cheapest tariff, but they do very well overall on all comparison metricsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0
