Happy New Year Everyone!
Getting off to a late start I'm afraid because DM is still very ill and not likely to improve. BIG HUGS to SunnyGirl and slowandsteady and anyone else that needs them at the moment.
I haven't had the motivation to shop much yet this year and anyway we have lots still in from Xmas/New Year. So I will be using as much of this as I can first. I will have to get eggs soon and just a few essentials at some point. £7.20 spent so far off my annual budget.
DS2 bought me a pressure cooker for Xmas so I am looking forward to working out some recipes for it! I've never had one before so I need to learn fast.Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Gosh, How time flies! I've not been on here for about 9 months since having my baby boy last April. It's good to see many familiar names are still on here, so hello to new and old .
My shopping bills have been about £400. This includes all nappies, milk, wipes and baby stuff, toiletries, medicines and drinks. I'm going to see if I can get it to around £300 to start with. It use to be £200 - £250 before baby. I don't have a massive stash in my freezer or cupboards but have meal planned for the next 2 weeks and I don't need to buy too much in addition to the usual fruit & veg and milk. I'm buying for me, OH, DD 4 and baby 9 months, the smallest of the pack being the one who is eating his way through house and home :rotfl:. OH and DD take packed lunches to work and school and we'll have 1 takeaway a fortnight, we rarely go out so that's our treat
.
Please put me down for £300 for Jan
Looking forward to doing this challenge again. Good luck everyone :beer:0 -
MrA delivery came today and I had to nip to the shop for a couple of things I missed off plus a bottle of Lucozade for my poorly DH. All totalled upto £82.17. I had cleaned the inside of the cupboards and washed th frezzer drawers out ready to be filled. I have done a food inventory and other than milk and a bit of fresh fruit and veg we shouldn't need to buy anything else. I'm determined to make more bread and cook our meals from scratch. We have got into a habbit of having a takeaway every Sat night but instead I'm going to make us one eg homemade pizza etc.
Good luck to everyone.0 -

Wow - I've done 3 days without spending a penny! Have to spend a bit tomorrow as my daughter is back at school on tuesday and wants a packed lunch for Tuesday. I've always got her school dinners in the past as I've then known shes has at least one hot meal a day. Now we are beginning to worry about her weight as she has always been a big girl but even at the age of 6 her peers are making a thing of it. Naturally my daughter isn't aware that we are keeping a better eye on her weight but I do feel that packed lunch may be the way to go as I can control it a bit more. I am going to make an appointment with my gp to discuss it a bit more as there are a few things that worry me about her at the moment. Obviously not going to take her with me because I don't want her to think she has any problems.
I've spent today listing everything in the cupboards, fridge and freezer and have sat this evening and come up with 4 weeks worth of menu plans with just fresh veg, fruit and milk to top up on each week.
Feeling really postive that I may come under target in January - fingers crossed!0 -
Spent £10.43 on basic food items and breakfast for New Year's Day. Also got a takeaway(what a good start) which was £11.30 for me and OH.
Shouldn't have to spend anything till Friday as I'm away but then will be doing a stock up shop on Friday which could get expensive.December GC £23.43/120 :T
Nationwide Overdraft £1136, Natwest Overdraft £1800(interest free), Natwest Credit Card £155/£350
Aim to clear overdrafts by Summer 2010

NSD for me today. I am going to force myself to use loads of stuff from the freezer over the next couple of weeks so I can give it a good clean. I had to operations last week and have had to drastically change my diet as a result, so I need to consider that when I shop to fill it. Good luck to everyone on the thread-I would like to clear a credit card debt over the next few months and am hoping that penny pinching with the groceries will help me do that!I paid only the minimum all last year due to being ill/living on income support so really want to change things this year.Oh to be debt free!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0
