Hi - joining in again as we are moving into our new home early Feb.
Can i please go for £120 in Feb?
Thanks. This is for 2 adults and a 15 yr old big eater who is coming for a week. We have to restock cupboards with virtually everything but I'm planning on doing this gradually.
Off to read back through this thread for inspiration. I'll need it!

Hello all, just sliding in to declare a MASSIVE overspend on the January budget of £67.04. (Hanging head in shame). This is due to a total lack of menu planning - I got bored after having planned the whole of December .... and buying loads of cheap wine and beer in Lidl. Just goes to show you how important it is to plan, plan and plan! I am going off this evening to work out the budget and menus for February, which has to incorporate 1 family birthday, 1 week of half term, and, for the first time in 5 years, a week's holiday too! (Self catering in Cornwall, but at least a change of scenery.) I will be taking a box of h/m bread mix ready to bake, a large pork joint that was on offer at Morrisons and has been sitting in the freezer, and as much food as I can fit into the cool bag and the boot of the car! Hopefully as it's a short month, it might go a bit better, fingers crossed anyway.
Right, please could you put me down for £200 for the Feb challenge Mrs M. Thanks:jMoney saving eco friendly Fertility reflexology specialist :j0 -
Declaring at £149.27 :j so well within my £200 budget! We ate a lot of lentil soup!
Mind you with bulging freezers and larder I should really have done better but couldn't resist getting a couple of the M & S deals (1 meat and 1 meal deal) and an approved food order. Now have plenty in to feed us.
Going to budget another £200 for Feb as we have guests to feed and I need to get a lot of sugar in for jam and marmalade making. See you on the Feb thread!

 £7 over budget but if I hadn't bought the 3 packs of 18 toilet rolls earlier in the month from co-op I'd have been under budget! Never mind, they'll last a couple months...Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

Right, I lost track of my NSD's after a good start, but as you'll see from my siggy, I still have £8.95 left for the month. I'm sure I lost a couple of bread/milk receipts for the month, but will write them off. Hubby has gotten much better at keeping hold of the receipts now, too, which should help in future. Although I'm not ready to declare yet, I have decided to up the budget for February to include mine and Oh's lunch money for work, and petrol, too. So I am setting a £300 for February budget, which will be a real reign in, now that I have the grocery only spending under control. We usually go through about £30 a week for fuel alone. This will also include any takeaways etc., which are normally just spent from the current account. My combined shopping for the last two weeks has come to £80.25, so a total for the month of £169.47 which considering I had my son and his friends indoors for an extra week due to the snow, is not bad. There were plenty of extra supplies needed that week as I mostly seemed to have at least 3 children in the house, and one day there was 5
I should have only been providing a small packed lunch for one :rotfl:0 -

hee hee, me too, 3 packs in the shed, along with 4 bottles of the £2 persil non bio from december, and other bargains i just had to stock the house with as they were soo cheap!
thinking about my overspend today (and busily justifying it!!) one thing which i have been good at this month is not buying things on impulse (crisps/snacks) cos i know there is a stock in the shed! The approved food order has stocked me up very cheaply on sensations chicken and thyme crisps, wagon wheels, jammie dodgers and diet pop, so when out i tell myself i have them at home if i want some later. The good thing about them being in the shed is i have to go outside to get them, so i don't just chomp through like i would if they were in the house...
not sure if i should have bought the nut roast and cous cous from approved foods (may have wasted £2 on 20 packets of food!), the nut roast i made one lot and didn't like it, and the cous cous i haven't fancied trying yet...
I have also started to work out where the cheaper shops are to shop around (now sold on W5 washing up liquid in lidl, so have a spare one of those in the shed which i replace next time i;m near lidl so i'm not forced to buy more expensive local options.nov grocery challenge, £.227.69/300, 9/25 nsd: , 7 Cmo, 10 egm.
