Went to buy my dogfood yesterday (in budget) and went into new all singing all dancing Mr T's, just to have a look around. Came out about £40 lighter:eek: but did get lots of whoopsies, 4 x pheasant breasts reduced to 75p from £3.00, and 7 packs of cumberlans sausages reduced to 35p each. Obviously a lot of other things fell into the trolley also so will update my sig later. Ir does mean I've gone horrendously over my first ever GC (not even saying the F word), but I think it will even out next month as no dog food to buy and plenty in freezer - haven't I said that before?

So please could I be put down again for February for
    £400.00
I will try even harder in Febuary, as I know there are big, big improvements. Any way best of luck to everyone else and bye-bye for now.

Last shop of the month this morning but I won't start February until the weekend. Today's shop will be more than usual as I need to stock up on a few things like washing powder, fabric softener, flour etc but should still be well within budget.

£320 for February please Mrs M.

I'll update my signature later when I get back :)

....What can I do with seven opened jars of jam? ....don't eat puddings except on Sundays....
It's a pity about the puddings, as my first thought was to stir a spoonful into a rice pud! Then a sponge pudding, jam roly poly & those muffins that have a dollop of jam in the middle when they're cooked. The name escapes me at the mo but I'm sure someone else will know what I'm talking about..now that will be a first:rotfl:

Hello all, need to come back for February grocery challenge please. Having been consistently failing to stay under £400 a month, I am facing redundancy very soon and so need to get down as low as possible but without going insane from all the moans :o

Please can you put me down for £330 for Feb (started already - on 22nd January).
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • Not related to GC, but SunnyGirl (or someone else who knows!), could you please tell me where to find patterns for the charity knitting you are doing. Worthhile cause, not too expensive to contribute, as my time is free!!!
    Thanks.

Have made a dent in Feb's budget now, as my month starts on 23rd. Will post when I've moved over to the Feb thread. Anyone know where it is or if it's even started yet?!!

Have stuck to my meal plan so far this week - had eggs needing using by today, so enjoyed omelette and salad for dinner last night. OH was going to throw away some leftover roasties while I was cooking the omelette, at which point I yelled at him, and made him fry them up. He said he really enjoyed them!!!

Have a good day all, I'm going to go back to pretending I'm working!!!

This includes everything and we're cutting down on the I'll just pop to the shops for some bread moments :)

Have decided I will have to start my Feb challenge early. Wasn't planning to do the next big shop until the weekend but as baby is late it's looking like she'll probably arrive then so I'm going to get it done today.
We have plenty of food in but it's stuff I had planned so it was easy for DH to cook when baby arrives and I'd rather save it all and buy different things to have for the next few days (makes sense to me lol!).

So, I won't be reducing my total as I'm going to have an extra bum to buy nappies for!

    £350 for feb please
