The Sewing Room

Hi everyone
I hope you don't mind me posting but today I fulfilled a dream and was given my very own sewing machineI'm so incredibly excited (am I sad- OH thinks so!). Anyway I have a project in mind- I want to make roman blinds for my bay. I have sewn before and I was good but it was ages ago so I'm a little worried that I'm taking on more than I can chew. Is it very hard? I've watched a tutorial on the net and it looks easy but she's a pro so she would make it look that way!
Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated

Have a dummy run and make one with an old bed sheet first before you cut and sew expensive fabric.
The best advice I wished I'd listen to.MEASURE TWICE - CUT ONCE .:)

Hi Pootle,
I bought some felt from Hobbycraft which I have used for sewing and applique. I don't think it is the best quality, but it did the job.
Wool felt is probably the best quality!

I followed this lovely lady's tutorial on her thread and made this
ta da....
finished it - golly I was terrified I was gonna muck it up - I was sweating at one point scared to do the next bit but when I was stuck I clicked on the pictures in the tutorial which supersized them and then it made sense - I am sure the words on the own to most people would have done but I just got myself in a muck sweat about it and looking at the fab pictures in the tutorial calmed me - I have still got to stuff it properly yet - its got two bags of pasta in at the mo so they will have to come out - what is best - some folk say cat litter - I dont know the first thing about that as I have a strong aversion to cats!0
