I lose my internet connection every day

Virgin is my broadband provider and I use a Linksys WMP54G wireless connector, connected to my main PC, which provides a wireless connection for two other PCs and my iphone.

A couple of weeks ago, I upgraded my main PC to Windows 7 and since then, I lose my connection on my main PC randomly every day, but have no problem with the other PCs or my iphone.

Virgin say it is a Linksys problem, but I can't see any relevant support on their website.

Any ideas?

I have had lots of Virgin cuts and I have a Belkin Router. Its them I think they update their server or something and it messes up the connections, I have to unplug the modem and router and it works again. I don't think their left hand knows what their right hand is fiddling with.
Mine was down on 26th about 1.30am and 24th about 2pm. Its gone off a few other times for about 3 minutes, but still had to unplug and reboot.

I assume from this that you have a cable modem attached to your main PC, which is then using ICS to serve the other 3 devices. That would mean that the PC would need to be on for any of the other devices to acceaa the net.

A neater, and probably more stable solution would be to get a wireless router, which could serve the 3 devices, and also your main PC.

No, he cable modem is connected to the router which in turn is connected to the main PC. I can use the other PCs and my iphone when the main PC is switched off.

If you are using a wired connection to your main PC, and the other comps can access the network if the main PC of off, - why do you need the Linksys? You already have a wireless router.

Surely the Linksys is the wireless bit?

More likely a signal level/damaged cable or loose or bad F connection.

    Hi There

Can you change the channel that your router is broadcasting wifi on?
