The Great Declutter Part 2

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas. I haven't been on this thread for ages but it is definitely time for me to come back because the house is bursting at the rafters now! We really want a new boiler and radiators in the New Year but will need to have a massive clear out so that the workmen can get in all the rooms!
The next few days will be the hall. This isn't too bad because it gets done pretty regularly but there is a build up of shoes, coats and general stuff to go upstairs. Slow start but a start.
Our bins haven't been emptied for a month so all these extra bags of rubbish aren't coming at the best time! xxxxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

I have a sudden urge to clearout and even regrets after, but it has to be done at that moment. Hubby would hoard but mostly his stuff goes via me to one of our storage/workshop/hobby sheds......it stays there in various forms. When it does not move/get used then... it gets moved to the charity shops or if real tat then rubbish tip for it final resting place.....love those days. Dianne
p.s. loads of self made Videos now in loft ....would love to dump them0 -
What on earth do I do with all these sundry types of cable and chargers?

But what if I need them !:rotfl::DJust call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
Ha ha! It's ruddy hard sorting stuff like that. I leave it to the OH to even identify things like that. I'm ok with chargers but some leads and cables, no idea. But have managed to get rid of some really obscure things like this on the local freecycle. But dont let it slow down your decluttering, grab a charity bag and fill it!

I dealt with it by asking OH once and then disposing of them We had about 4 scart leads and loads of unidentified other cables/chargers. As yet we haven't found anything we use which is missing a charger or cable so no harm done.

I have decided I can't keep up the level of OS I have been trying to do for the last few years. Some things like my cooking meals from scratch, baking cakes and knitting will stay simply because those are things I have always done. It's the bread making, sewing, jam making, extra-provisions-in-the-larder, etc that has to end simply because I CANNOT bear all the clutter!! My cuboards open to a landslide of empty jam jars, 23 different shapes/sizes of cake tins, jelly moulds, 2 mixers, yoghurt maker and endless cookie cutters. The entire larder and the top shelf of my dresser are stacked high and deep with extra bags of sugar, flour, rice, tins of everything, oils, jams, ketchups...
I need to de-clutter and actually have a house I can feel proud of. No matter how often I tidy up there is simple not enough room for all my OS equiptment, and no room for any more cupboards - I've even taken over the garage! Fingers crossed for a tidier 20110 -
I find January a great time for decluttering :T I'll be starting my Spring Clean Declutter Mission once everyone is back to school/college/work in the second week.
I'll add this to the existing thread later; you'll get lots of support and encouragement there:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
