IN:
The New Year (Happy New Year everyone :hello:)
OUT:
3 children (round to MIL for the night)
LOTS of paperwork sorted and blue binned
The children are round the In Laws tonight, already had a massive binge downstairs. Managed to convert 3 boxes, 2 baskets and one plastic storage tub into 1 large basket and several piles of paperwork. Blue box for recycling now full! Done lots of shredding also. So pleased and found more floor
Will continue again tomorrow - so much easier to get things done when the kids are away. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Today wasn't as hectic as I thought it would be due to my having a cough and cold and not feeling too decluttery today. However I did manage to find 10 lots of things to get rid of today.
IN:
Nothing
OUT:
My baby grandson - he stayed the night and went home today, along with his assorted clutter (he's not part of my challenge though!)
A Slimming World 2010 calendar that came free with Slimming World magazine.
A WH Smith gift catalogue
Some craft papers that came free with a magazine that I won't use
Some out of date cous cous, savoury rice and noodles
A 2009 calendar
A nearly empty carton of mixed fruit juice: threw the dregs away
My old faithful leather purse that had a broken zip and tag
One olive in a jar! Put this in with another jar of olives
A dead coriander plant. Used for soup last week but since died. In compost bin.
A cheapo noticeboard thing from Poundland that had fallen apart.
I managed 10 things and have half of tomorrow's as well. Hasn't made a vast difference yet but as somebody said, every little helps and if I keep chipping away at it, it will all go eventually. I'm aiming for the end of January to be clutter-free...Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Is it ok if I join in?
1 box of stuff for charity shop today2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Hypno - I like your way of decluttering :rotfl: had to help declutter some quality street tonight, its not fair to leave it all up to the boys!
I know what you all mean about decluttering on your own, its so much easier! DS1 was cleaning the bathroom today (evil mother chores are linked to pocket money!) and came in with two used toothbrushes. DH started to say "well they always come in useful.........." and then stopped as he saw the look on my facehaving second thoughts he decided the appropriate place would be the bin
Decluttered the fridge today and the leftover curry though!Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
I lurked on this thread last year but seeing as I have no idea how I accumulate so much stuff the time has come to join & be proactive. Decluttering is made harder as I hate throwing things away (am very sentimental but also superstitious/OCD so it can take me ages cos it has to "feel right"). Am liking the ideas of throwing 5/10 things away a day. My car boot is full of rubbish too- I am sure if someone came and emptied it I wouldn't miss any of it yet if I go theough it- it all suddenly becomes "very important/useful" stuff!!
I have made a start on my bedroom as couldn't see floor for past few weeks, got some shredding to do too, will do a little each day as I burnt out the motor on my last shredder cos of overuseooopppss
Going to go through clothes too. Used to sell on ebay but not done for ages- any tips on what sells well? Better to do short auctions or longer ones? Over weekends or Buy It Now etc??Married my wonderful husband February 2013!:happyhearI want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......Must STOP spending!!!Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -
Pending leaving the house (waiting on my bin to be emptied on Monday  Even my recycling bin is filled with my recycling & a very full binbag of normal rubbish ready to be swapped over  ) :
Various food items which have either expired, haven't been used since last Xmas, don't look/smell right as I can't remember when they were opened.
Various bits out of my chest-of-drawers in my bedroom. (I never realised I had so much in there)
Planning on having a small sort out each day between now and the end of the monthCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Happy New Year _party_, i know its late but better late than never!! anyway sorted 2 drawers in the kitchen, and packed some of my photos into my new storage boxes
. Not much else, cooked a roast and used up my veggies, so tomorrow the fridge and food cupboards are getting tackled . So good luck, an here's to clean, clutter-free 2010 xxx
Getting Organised IN 2010 :T Clutter-free bug!!! STOPPED SMOKING 24-07-10, NEVER HAVING ANOTHER PUFF :j0 -
Hi everyone!
I'm on a decluttering mission this year too! I did manage to get rid of about 20 bags of stuff at the beginning of last year but it never really seemed to make a dent so i'm determined to get through everything this year! Me and OH are seperating so that will also give me a kick to have a good clear out. Anyway, this thread has inspired me to get started but its late so I've just sorted through the three kitchen drawers and chucked some stuff in a bag to car boot this sunday and then sorted through the bathroom drawers and binned a load of out of date or manky stuff! Every little helps as they say!

Hi I'm in again please. Decided that I'm going to do a room a month and hope this will help me be more focussed. Today I sorted the tall cupboard in my kitchen and also tidied it all up too - even put a hook on the inside of the door to hang a bag with all my dusters (well rags!) in!
out (well waiting t be freecycled!) went 2 metal storage containers and a small pie dish (that I dropped and smashed! well that's one way to get rid! Also out went various paper and cardboard.DD3 has had a claer out too and has a big bag of stuff waiting to be charity shopped.
in came nothing - not ventured out today!Official DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'
