Hi everyone,
Lots of progress from everyone :T
Out:
Had another few house bits collected tonight (and yesterday) from freecyclers - yay so more stuff gone. Including doggie bits which were given to a dog rescue place. (So that's another 3 bits gone).
Will aim to do a turbo declutter day over the Easter weekend - decluttering 25 things in 25 hours.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

More decluttering today.
In: Nothing as yet and not going out so unless there's mail, nothing.
Out: 1 top in the rubbish as well as out of date (by 3 weeks) butter and 2 yoghurts, with more to come as I continue through the day; a full bag of rubbish will be ready to go by the end of the day.
Pending out: Listed another 6 books on Greenmetropolis and waiting for them to sell. Will be eating a sachet of pasta, some bread, smoked salmon, some lemon, 2 cans of pop, a yoghurt, some potatoes and finishing a packet of cheese today so these will all go out as and when I use them.0 -
Morning,
Right I'm gonna try and declutter 25 things today. I've already made a start:
2 x toiletries (in a bag go to sis)
So 2 down, 23 to go!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi all, I've just found this challenge and I think it is a brilliant idea. I have always been a hoarder (and a spender) and got lots of things to de-clutter. Got a garage full of stuff to sort through. My main problem is paperwork, books, clothes and household equipment. I don't know where to start. I have decided that this long weekend I am going to make a BIG start in getting tough with myself and clearing as much as possible. My main problem is lack of motivation and discipline. Help! How do you stay motivated to keep sorting through stuff and dealing with it there and then rather than putting it off for another day?Save £12k in 2017 #14

Welcome micron. Everyone is really friendly here. It doesn't matter how much you declutter, it's all about getting things to an acceptable level for you. In response to your question:
How do you stay motivated to keep sorting through stuff and dealing with it there and then rather than putting it off for another day?
The answer is make a start NOW! Spend 5 mins....
- sorting a kitchen drawer
- the airing cupboard
- clothes to go to a charity shop
- sorting the shed or garage
You'll often find you'll spend longer. Just pick up a rubbish bag, a recycling bag (if your council recycles paper/glass/glass etc) and a carrier bag to start collecting stuff to go to a charity shop. Other outlets to get rid of stuff include ebay (and some people have done really well selling stuff) or freecycle or freegle. the latter is good for stuff that is awkward or heavy (eg furniture) that you don't or can't sell or anything else I'd say that the charity shops wouldn't want to sell.
Best of luck and keep us posted!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Ok, so I've now found another 10 things to go! Out of date food which I'll pass to a family member who isn't as fussy as meref dates, but some of these are several years out of date! I now have space in the cupboard!
So a total of 12 down, 13 to go. All "recycled", no landfill. Woo hoo.:T
I won't update my sig until I get to the magic 25!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi - Must be quick - loads to do - finally got to my 100 in 10 days but cant remember where I got to in posting but - d'you know - it doesnt matter.

So now I can start my 25 in 24hrs - but not yet because we are in the garden while its dry (ish)
Have a lovely weekend...
XX MMStay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)
Roadkill jar (found money) 87p and 20 eurocents0 -
25 things be gone!
2 x toiletries (in a bag go to sis)
10 x out of date food things (in a bag for someone in family)
1 x iron (sadly cannot be salvaged for freecycle, to landfill)
3 x old PC bits (freecycle)
1 x old keyboard (charity)
So that's 17 out of 25 things decluttered. Off to dig for more stuff. Phew feeling a bit tired, but good to see space appearing. Look, look! I have carpet! :rotfl:Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
