  • Oooh can I join in please?

This Xmas I have cleared three or four bin bags of old clothes, one bag of old cosmetics/empty bottles, a broken iron that had been on my windowsill for two months after we replaced it, and am in the process of recycling a bookshelf and a desk for the babies room. Just got to decide what to do with all the trashy books.....

Next I have my eye on all the girls baby clothes I saved from my DD's four years on the planet, since new baby looks to be of the blue variety. Maybe will hold out til May just in case the scan woman was seeing, erm, things ...:rotfl:

The Xmas tree is out the door first thing tomorrow. Can't wait!

I like the idea of this - jewellery making bits perhaps - so also swapping mags so we can try new ones, getting rid of too many pairs of pliers etc?

I've made a major effort to use and enjoy the things I have over the last couple of days. Listening to my music and reading books I got for Christmas. Hopefully this will help me realise that I rarely have the time to enjoy all the things I have so I really don't need to buy more!!

I like the idea too! :D

I make jewellery and hand bag charms and have jewellery parties at my house and invite friends and people from work.

I also have my jewellery photos on my Facebook page to try and get some business but i think i might try Ebay and see if anyone buys aything.

Been subscribed to the thread for a few days but have finally sent my pet boy back to work this morning so would like to add myself to the challenge.

Primarily I want to clear out of my room all the things I've kept for over two years now since I moved in to my Dad's house 'temporarily' while my ex and I were planning to purchase a property.
The heaps of books I have and haven't read in years - I will be ruthless with those - a concerted effort to read the contents of my book case followed by a listing on greenmet prehaps, certainly no more purchases (except specific authors to fill gaps in series like the Discworld books as I have most but not all, but will only buy if I see them at carboots or in charity shops).

Same goes for DVD's - I own hundreds and only watch a handful repeatedly, so will get rid of the films which aren't Disney's or watched often.

I'm already running down my wardrobe but do have quite a few things which are far too small for me now, so will see about getting started on ebaying them.

Theres loads more I'll need to sort out too but for now I'll leave my list at that it's daunting enough already, lol!!
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Plus i'm a magpie when i comes to beads so i've got tons!! this year i'm going to reuse the beads from peices that didn't sell last year before i buy more although i do need new jewellery busts as mine have fallen apart

for thosejewellery makers amoungst us we could had a bead swap thread?

  • Great idea, I've actually been doing this for about a year now and it really does make a difference. We're currently packing to move house (again *sigh*) and I feel much more inspired now to chuck out even more junk!

Shall we swap FB Pages? I have my pics on there too - I LOVE doing Bridal Jewellery but have been a bit to liberal with the money an spent on 'junk' jewellery beads so make other bits too. Although parties not going well - no-one wants them, not even before Christmas so am thinking of jacking in selling :(

Thats exactly what ive found too. I've had 3 parties so far but only 2 people came to the last one :o
I'm finding that once people have come once they are not really interested. As no-one is interested i thought id sell on Ebay but as my jewellery is not expensive, after all the fees etc there probably wont be any point in it
