Ashamed, bought some more books in Asda...but 50p each so read them, review them then get them listed online, also finished up some toileties and had a wardrobe clear out, still got too many clothes but put together some new outfits from the stuff lurking.

Urgh I hate ebay. Decided to get my account going by selling some odd bits of dive kit I have lying about in its packaging, got one bidder who seems to think I'm a business asking for a specific colour - a colour the manufacturer don't even make fgs, and what the brand name stands for. *head wall*

Capitulated on the junior mouthwash..and sadly was also disorganised and had to buy lip balm and painkillers whilst out for work one day..BUT apart from that I can confirm that since 1 January 2010 my household has spent precisely £0.00 on toiletries..WOO HOO

    Love this thread.

Used up a bath foam and a body wash bottle so far this week. Also rejected 'hard sell' on products - well - they were having a little go at selling bless 'em - at the hairdressers too!!

    Hi everyone :)

This weekend I've got through a bottle of whiskey (im trying to get through the masses of bottles that only have a bit left in the bottom - although the recycling men think I have a problem!), a moisturiser, deoderant and a pack of cotton bud ear cleaner thingys. Not much but I am definitely seeing an increased amount of space since I started this challenge.

Ive been reading the 'Things you never thought would sell on eBay' thread this weekend, theres some really strange suggestions like old tax discs and empty perfume bottles, so ive made a list, been round the house and rounded up loads of things to try. I only posted about 11 items last night but have already made £6.97 with another six days to run on the listings!

anyway off to find more 'treasures', Happy Easter

Well looks like I'm losing my freeview box and mini hifi, both have stopped working today, so am currently browsing freegle in the hope of finding some short-term replacements while I save up for some good ones.

  • Hi,

This is an excellent idea and I'll definately be jumping on board!

Have so many bottles of shampoo and other toiletries that need using up, I'm terrible at hording things like that. Also have lots of books and old CDs I've grown tired of so Amazon/eBay here I come :)

    Hi everyone

    Since last posting we have:
    • used up a kids shampoo bottle
    • used up bubble bath
    • used up about 3 hotel size shampoos and shower gels
    • used up a face cream (only 99 to go..;))
    • used up a body lotion (ditto..)
    • threw away about 3 sets of very old contact lenses and solutions ..:o that was pretty grim.. (have now switched to soft fortnightly ones)
However I did in desperation buy some nail varnish when out last week as nails were too yuck for words but thats it. Not bad overall for me as I have been on this challenge since 1st Jan..WOO HOO

Like other posters I can really see a difference..I can see the tiles in my bathroom!! On the other hand Boots' profits have taken a nose dive..:rotfl:

Been away for the weekend and used up some more sample sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, brought the empty bottles home and will refill them for the next time I'm away for the weekend (hopefully much more often now I passed this weekends course). And have some full sized bottles to take with me and use up when I go to see the boy next weekend.

Need to do some more ebay listing but utterly knackered this evening already.

Thought I might bump this one back up the board.

Just realised I have only 24 days before I finish my job, 27 days before I go on holiday and 38 days until I move.....!!!!!!!!

Have been bimbling along clearing out bits and pieces but I now need a concerted effort to clear some junk as although you can see the floor theres not enough of it to hoover right now and when I go although I will still have this room here I really can't be bothered coming home occasionally and having to tidy around 'stuff' to get to the bed.

So tasks for the next 3 days -

list at least 10 'new' books on greenmet and or amazon
    10 items on ebay
get at least 5 things out of my wardrobe
bin at least 5 other things out of the wardrobe
