I'm decluttering my bedroom and will take the clothes I don't need to Age Concern.

Will clear out the 'stuff everything in/black hole' cupboards and put some shelves up.

Clean up and organise kitchen cupboards. (and stop buying non-bio soap powder until the others boxes/soap nuts are all used up)

    GRB.

  • We had a canvas wardrobe and the cats ruined it (it almost fell over in the nite cos the cats climbed up it) so now it is a floordrobe so going to have to sort through more of my stuff this week end and maybe get a mate round to try and build some built in wardrobes and hopefully get things sorted out but in the meantime need somewhere to store my "keep" stuff.

  • Our treadmill (more like fancy clothes horse at the moment :rotfl:) has been put onto local ad paper website, so will also appear in this week's paper. Fingers crossed!
Mamas & Papas baby travel system will hopefully go to local nursery shop. They also sell secondhand stuff on behalf of customers (they take a commission). They've hinted we could get around £300 for it all, IF there are any takers of course. Going to try and drop it off there at the weekend...

  • Hello everyone, my name is Sally and Im a toilettries addict :D. Can I join in?

Well Im not really an addict - I just seem to have amassed a large collection, but my OH and I have already pledged that we are going to use the lot up before buying more so its great to find this thread!

Since changing to a 'use up' mind set in January i've also noticed that I seem to have lots of other addictions that need curbing so heres a list: -

Toilettries - including a large bag full of nail varnish that I will never get though, I dont think I have ever finished an eyeshadow and I have a collection of lip glosses/balms that have been going gunky for years.

Sanitary protection - I started using a mooncup a few years ago (absolutely brilliant - Sorry to any men reading) but have never got rid of my stash of ladies things, so they will get donated to my sisters.

Books - like everyone else I have loads but once ive got through them all its going to be on a 'one in one out' basis.

Clothes - I always wear scruffy clothes to work so after a few wears most of my nice clothes end up in the work pile and I can't find anything to wear, so my plan is to separate them all out, sort through and then be strict about saving the nice things.

Then Ive noticed that I have a few 'stealth' collections i.e. ones I hadn't noticed before:-

Notebooks and pens - I don't know how but I've got loads of new and half used notebooks and pens, so might have to start a journal as has been previously suggested (thank you poster :T)

Underwear - I have just replaced the grotty 'off white' pants that I've been living in for a year but still not got rid of them and I have lots of sets of bras and pants that look nice but don't quite fit and certainly don't feel confortable so they'll have to go.

Herbs, Spices, packets - I seem to have loads of herbs and spices which is great because it makes me look like I know what Im doing in the kitchen but I never end up using them. I also have loads of packets of chilli powder mix, parsely sauce mix or spicey wedges mix that need using up soon.

Sorry about the long post but I wanted to get it all out in the open and thank you everyone for being so inspiring :T

    I've started ebaying again :-)

Put some spare camp blanket badges on - only small things but it's a start.

Also have some cds to sell through music magpie.

Hi Sallymander - are you joining in the toiletries challenge on here? it's been a real help for me trying to get rid of things!

  • Hi all,
Day off again so busy sorting out shoes that I absolutely had to have (just call me Imelda!) and have never fitted me. About to take a deep breath and list them on e-bay.

Goal is to save enough to pay off hubby's cc as a surprise, up to £350.

Hi yes I am, I'm doing ok with my blanket, just had a big sew on session, but these were some swaps I bought that are selling well on ebay so I thought I'd get rid of them straight away I hope!

Having said that I sent off for a couple more yesterday...
