Making good progress with bath stuff used another tub of moisturiser (I have the bad habit of using about half of it or almost all of it then going on to the next one!!!)

    Snap!

We're doing so well. Today I got rid of a decrepit concealer, a lip balm that had definitely seen better days, and a pile of paperwork that was becoming a permanent fixture in the living room. Baby steps!
  • Smelly handcream that needed using up seems to have gone off - it's going straight to the bin now. How's everyone else doing? Is the thread so quiet because you're all on Ebay and Amazon selling your stuff?
  • Just got my old exercise bike out of the garage. I haven't used it for a few months and its all covered in dust................so after I've cleaned it up thats going to get used tonight, which will also help me with the "lose lbs without spending £££s challenge". After I've done that I'll use up some of my Lush goodies .........and possibly finish of that bottle of wine in the fridge!

I'm planning a huge declutter this weekend, long overdue. So should be able to update shortly! I was going to make use of the ebay free listing day but have realised i'm away week of 25 January so if i list things on Sunday they'll run out the following week just before I go away which is not ideal. But i'm going to sort everything out and get it all photographed and ready to list once i get back.
I still havent bought any books or body cream, two of my vices. My boss lent me The Kite Runner to read though, and i've lent her the DVD of it. So another book to read even though I have stacks! But at least i didnt buy it i guess. Been a bit naughty on the DVD front, saw one on ebay that i liked when i borrowed it from a friend a while ago, and before i know it i'd put a bid on! Even though i have loads of DVD's i havent watched, and just borrowed a load more from the in-laws! Dont know why as i dont have much time to watch films anyway!

  • Oooh, enjoy The Kite Runner, mavvysmum, it's great.

Snowdonlily - an evening of lush goodies and wine doesn't sound bad considering it's part of a challenge.

I've used up a bottle of body oil and written up an ad for my uni books. I'm planning to go to a swapping event next week (books, clothes and accessories) so have the chance to get rid of loads more stuff, but you can get new things with the swap points you collect, so I might end up with a load more junk... am going to see if I can find things that'll do for gifts or things that will sell easily instead.

This is the challenge I have set myself too - to use up what I've already got before buying any more!

In particular "-I will not buy any books until I have read all of the ones that I have.

-To use up the endless bottles of moisturiser/body lotion/shower gel/perfume without buying more first
-To only buy clothes when what I've got really needs replacing.

And to sell anything that I've got that isn't being used"

I couldn't have put it any better myself.... so I haven't!

I will add, too - use up stuff from the kitchen cupboards - sick of throwing out food which was perfectly good... until its sell by date months previously.

Also - going to the library once I've read all the books on the shelf.

Great challenge - count me in!

    Evening all,

I'm slowly using up more toiletries, and finally finished a book i've been reading for ages the other day. I'm hoping to get more on ebay next week, and do some more reading.

  • Hi all,

Got a big box of stuff to list on ebay tomorrow for the listing day. Cant wait to get it sorted and hopefully sold. I got some more clothes today mostly for work but as I am getting rid of alot of my other clothes I thought that I could do this. My wardrobe is almost falling down cos I was so full and now it is all neat and tidy - something its not been for years!!!!

Used up some more conditioner today and threw away a tube of face mask because it burnt my skin (might be really out of date!!)

Its my bday on monday and a few pressies have arrived (ive not opened them but rattled them) and think I might have yet another set of smellies!!!!

Keep up the good work everyone.

    Part of the Furniture
Whilst having a tidy up I found a box of old phone handsets, which I have begun sorting to send off for recycling. So far all being well there are packs for three of them on the way which will earn just shy of £90 plus £12 cashback.
I've also sorted the accessories which came with them - mostly due for the bin but my boss mentioned being short of a nokia handsfree kit so I should be able to offload at least one of my three to him on Tuesday.

Been sadly lacking in motivation the last few days, but did manage a NSD day yesterday. Reading another old book, avoiding amazon and boots websites, and managing to use up more old toiletries.
