    Morning all,

Firestrout ~ how's your DD this morning?

Today I'm off to Poole to visit my Nan, she's not very well :( my Dad is staying with her this week from today as she can't be left alone. My Mum is driving us down today as my car still has the spare on it which is limited to 50mph.

Talking of cars, Kassi.. my Auntie has the new Fiesta, it's lovely. Mum has the new C Max and I've got her old car, a 56 Fiesta, she let me buy it from her for £1500.... I have the best Mum in the world. Her new car is on options with Ford, my Grandad gets 3 discount vouchers a year so she had a chunk discounted. I'd love to be able to help her out in 3 years time when she pays her car off like she's helped me.

Hope everyone has eaten all the turkey and has a lovely day xxx

DD seems a lot better this morning although I havent yet checked her temp. Just want to leave her sleeping for now :o

Hope your nan is better soon. I hated seeing my nan ill.

And the turkey in the house is ALMOST all gone, everyone has been avoiding it :rotfl:

ETA: just checked her temp. Realized what I said and realized her health is more important than my quiet time.

It's still a little high. 38.1 but nowhere near the 39.4 it was last night.
Will get her some cooling pads, teething gels and iprobrupen (sp?) since the calpol isnt bringing it down much.

firestronaut - if your DD is teething, I use a tried and tested method of pain/temp control on mine...

rub anbesol onto her gums (anaesthetic and antiseptic), give 1/s teaspoon of calpol (pain relief and temp reducer)

if she's still in pain with it an hour later, then I give 1/2 teaspoon of ibuprofen (anti-inflammatory) and a bit later sachet of nelson's teetha granules (cammomile to calm her down).

I also layer her up with cotton babygrow and cotton sleepsuit, (cotton sheet X2, Celluar blanket x2 and jersey sheet) and just take a layer off her if her temperature rises and keep removing layers until her temp is under control.

Saying that, some nights, she just wants a cuddle with her face snuggled in my neck, and knees / bum between my bust / waist and we both chillax for an hour or two.

  • Well, I'm hitting the sales today with a list of the things I really want, and I wont buy anything if it's not on sale! Also going to the cinema with bf today to see Sherlock Holmes as a treat :)

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time

Thanks Toto, I've just ordered six pairs, I wasn't sure which size I was so I got them in both. At that price it's worth it, if the bigger size is too big I'll charity shop them, if the smaller size is too small I'll keep them till I've lost weight.

    firestronaut, it worked for me.

    Samer here!

Huge thanks for the link, really needed some new jeans.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

No jeans in my size:mad: never mind, I am off to the sales today with boys and I could really do with some new boots, ones that will go with skinny jeans.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
  • DDs temp had dropped another 0.2 degrees :)

She's in the "safe zone" now, at 37.9

I need to go out food shopping but might leave it till tomorrow. Morrisons are doing cheap bacon/sausages etc, and I've been wanting a bacon butty for days. Also going to get the M&S party for a tenner, there's enough food in it to do me for 3 or 4 days, plus a nice bottle of wine.

Do any of you in Leeds want to go to see Sherlock Holmes this week? I'm going sometime but I've got a free carer pass and I hate not using it as it's such a waste!

Need to watch loads of telly today to free up space on my sky+ for the 24 marathon tomorrow, ever since the ads started for the new series me and ex have been trying to remember what happened in the last series and confusing ourselves, so I need to watch the old series again.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
