Oops.....I should prob start my own thread if I am asking for comments shouldn't I???
I haven't been a member for long and often forget the forum protocall! I can't remember what it's called! Don't want to divert the topic from your thread! :-PLive your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says...

Oh and ps......I know I said I was a bargain Queen but I still spend waaaay too much on my weekly shop!!! Am going to be the same as you and try the value ranges!! I am guilty of sticking to the same brand name and not being very economical with food!! Faaar too much goes in the bucket!!
Where can I find the grocery challenge?? Is it something on here or just a phrase that's used to gee you into budgeting with your shopping??
Perhaps I am not as good as I though I was??!! This forum is definately making me re-think my spending habbits which is a good thing!! I am now thinking that a bargain isn't a bargain unless you actually need it!!!!
Hope to hear back from you!Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says...

Hi button, the Grocery challenge is on the Old Style Money Saving Board, it is a sticky at the top. There are loads of people on it and you can set your budget at whatever you like and you will get really good ideas on there aswell. If i come in within budget this month then i will try and keep shaving another bit off in the following months until im comfortable that i have made all the changes that i possibly can. OH has embarked on a healthy eating plan this week which has helped reduce spends on snacks but if we are going by past experience within the next couple of weeks he will be raiding the biscuit barrell...............with me two steps behind him
:D

Thanks for saying I'm an inspiration but the only thing I feel I've done which is inspiring is holding out for high maitenence - without that I'd be scuppered.
Ooh and I needed 3 tyres last year and apparently it's makes more sense to always get them as either 2 or 4. I saved over £200 by taking my original quote to different places. At the time I found just tyres were the cheapest, Kwik Fit couldn't compare at all!
Have you checked out Etyres? I've heard they are supposed to be quite competitive!0 -
Thanks chirpchirp, the place i phoned told me i could get Pirelli tyres for £70 which are "premium quality" or for £50 i could get a "chinese budget tyre" .......i could almost hear him scoffing at the "chinese budget tyre" . Have delegated this job to OH tomorrow so will let you know how it goes.
Hooray for the maintenance, glad your putting it to good use!!!Credit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
Today would have been a NSD except for the FOUR new tyres we had to buy for the car. OH initially thought we needed two, then it went up to three and it ended up being the whole four:mad:. On the positive side a friend of OHs was able to get them without paying the vat
, also whenever OH got talking to the man that runs the tyre place the guy realised that my Oh had done work for his dad so gave us the wheel alignment free :j:j. Total spend waw £200 and didnt have to resort to the "Chinese budget tyre".............:rotfl::rotfl:. Hope everyone is having a good weekend....WABL

The wantabetterlife family will soon be the proud owners of this "mortgage pig" . Until now when i have talked about adding money to the mortgage pig, it has been the virtual kind. After reading the mortgage pig thread on this board i have been inspired....... i think it will help keep us focused on the MFW path.............OH thinks i have completely lost the plot and nearly wet himself :rotfl::rotfl:. Please tell me its not just me...........??? Just need to think of an appropriate name  Any ideas???
