well done on the whoopsie shopping, I havent had a good one for ages. It gives you a right buzz when you get good deals.
When my rate went down to svr it was great to see the interest go from £13.70 to £7.40 a day, makes such a difference!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Hi SSTS, i have been following your diary aswell! The tv was £600, definatley wouldnt spend 2.5k on a tv! although oh had his eye on a 3D one....honestly you couldnt let him loose in currys.
Hi pammy....i wud love our daily interest to be that low...hopefully someday.
Have just started a spending diary again to keep focused. Got paid yesterday and have worked out a budget for the month. I have been sticking to shops like Lidl and trying to stick to a list..my downfall is snack foods and things for DDs lunch box.... I buy loads of stuff to last for a few weeks and it is all gone in a few days. I think i need to find a few hiding places.
DS is eight weeks old now and getting so big.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. xoCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
Have just seen a house on the internet in our ideal location in the countryside (currently live in town) ... it is beside where i am from but is way out of our price range
.
It is so annoying becuase if we hadnt of borrowed the extra money our mortgage it would only be about 90k now and would give us so many more options.
Oh well just need to keep motivated and at least we realised the error of our ways before we really got into problems.Credit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -

Quidco have paid £13.40 into the bank account and i had a spare £20 so i have paid £35 off the mortgage, which is almost two days worth of interest :j
Not much else happening, stil trying to be careful with food shopping, but am really noticing the price of several of my usual items creeping up :mad:Credit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
Just a quick update
Received £15 in boots vouchers in the post for setting up child trust fund and am just waiting on them to pay the £35 cashback to quidco.:D
Also in the post we got £15 of clubcard vouchers...am going to save these and hope they do one of their double up promos soon so i can stock up on nappies and wipes
Used £3.00 worth of vouchers in Mr T for DD2 nappies...nearly have enough to last until the summer when i hope to start potty training. Will then just have to buy nappies for DS:j
We have spent £211 so far this month on groceries but this does include all food, milkman, nappies and formula. Hopefully should need to much more and would like to keep total spend under £300.
Hope everyone is wellCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
I'm hoping the potty train my DD1 this summer - I've bought her a princess potty from boots but she is completely hopeless. She's 27 months so I'm hoping it will click soon.
Is formula expensive? I'm Bfing DD2 (I BF DD1 as well so I've never bought it) but I'm thinking about maybe moving DD2 onto combination feeding now she's weaned (she's 7 months)OPs so far £42,139
Original end date Nov 2037 (53) Current end date June 2024 (40) Aiming for 5 years to be Mf
DD1 Oct 2008:), DD2 Jul 2010:), DD3 Aug 2013:)
When life is getting me down I try to remember to thank God for the blessings0 -
Hi Sarahevie, i breastfed both DD1 and DD2 but whenever DS came along i only managed 2 weeks as it was so time consuming.
Formula milk costs almost £8 per tin and this lasts a week, so roughly it amounts to £400 for the year.
We also spend about £50 per month on nappies and wipes for the two little ones which is £600 per year.....so eventually we will be £1000 per year better off:D:D.
Goodluck with the potty training. xoCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
Todays efforts to be Mortgage free have been
To list a duplicate xmas present on ebay, hoping to get about £10 for it
Checked argos clearance on line and bought 3 kids birthday presents at a fraction of the full cost :money:
Went to lidl and stocked up on some bargains and also noticed that their nappy sale starts tomorrow, so will get some in DS next size. I counted yesterday the i have over 500 nappies in DDs size am hoping this will be nearly enough to see me through until potty training
Made a lovely dinner from scratch and made enough veg to freeze for during the week.
Also yesterday brought back a baby present to Mr Ts that was too small and used the money to buy formula and wipes so have saved a tenner from the grocery budget:D
Think thats about it....Credit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
£5.00 paid from quidco so have added this to the tenner i saved on the groceries and have made an online payment of £15.00 to the mortgage
Went to lidl yesterday and stocked up on nappies
My aunt has her own hens and brought me down a big box of eggs....think i will make omlette for dinner to use some up....am determind not to throw any food away
Received £42.50 worth of boots points today in the post. This has come mostly from ordering Xmas presents from boots.com. We dont have a shop with the kiosk near us so i phoned them and they agreed to post them out to me. The plan is that i will use these to buy formula/nappies etc and then transfer the money they would have cost to the mortgage :j
Cashback on my credit card is over £80 now and i will receive this at the end of the month i think and will put this towards another o/p.
Thats it for now, hope everyone is well!Credit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000
