When a pint isn't a pint?!

I will name and shame now as I am bloody sick of it.
Bacchus Bar in Birmingham. Great place, fab decor, very quiet, but they have this one annoying rip-off going on that I've just had enough of (having suffered it today, and noticed it before a few times, and got into a big argument about it this evening).
They have the lovely Erdinger on tap which has to be served in a curvy custom glass. About a month ago I noticed my glass had "0.5l SQHM" on it instead of the usual "1 Pint SQHM". I assumed it was a one off but since then I've been ripped off with the 0.5l glass again though sometimes I get the pint glass.
Tonight, I popped in on my way home and when I saw the barmaid pour it into the 0.5l glass (which I think is illegal in the UK unless the tariff at the bar states it's a 0.5l measure rather than a pint) I had to pipe up. Cue the entire bar staff telling me that the brewery forces them to use this size of glass though they admit their stock of glasses is a mixture of 0.5l and pint glasses so 'its the luck of the draw mate'.
Surely this is wrong. If I ask for a pint of Erdinger I expect to get a pint rather than 0.5l (especially as it is £3.95 and I grudgingly paid that for my 0.5l this evening having lost the argument with the bar staff combine).

I think Weights & Measures Regulations stipulate pint or half-pint for draught beers & ciders.
See http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1042009/Pub-threatened-hefty-fine-serving-lager-litre-glasses-instead-pints.html which tends to bear this out.

To be fair have you checked their "tariff board"
It may well state its a 0.5L glass and you just happen to get lucky sometimes when they are running low on these.
I'd suggest you ensure you are correct before going to Customs, Trading Standards etc.0 -
stop bloody whining.
if thats the only thing you have to moan about then your doing well.
Do you also moan when you get a larger head than normal on your beer?
or when the skin on your spuds are thicker than normal?0 -

Cheers, I'm 40 and have been single all my life despite my best efforts (met 100+ lunatics on Match.com and I keep meaning to start a thread on that!!), my mum's just told me she has cancer this xmas, and I've had a !!!!! year so shut up.
I'm sure you'd be annoyed if your local charged you £3.95 for a 12% less than a pint.Or maybe you're rich and don't care, in which case - woo!

I ran pubs for a number of years and can totally agree with a previous poster that it is illegal. Beer needs to be served in pints, half or third of a pint. Shandy on the other hand needs to be served in ml.
Get in touch with the management company and trading standards.

Not sure if these are still right as I left about three years ago, you could always just walk to Fleet Street in Birmingham and complain at their head office. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
