Bread flour ?

I also use the doves farm quick yeast, it's much better value and less fiddly than trying to get a teaspoon out of those little packets. The results are excellent. I've been getting better results from allinson flour which is 1.20 for 1.5kg. It does make a nicer loaf than the supermarket flour but is a bit expensive. I've been looking into getting flour direct from a miller. Shiptonmill does 16 kg for 15.50 which is 98p per kilo. I'm going to have a think about whether this would be worth doing and whether it might be best to share a big order with my mum.Sealed pot member 735

Like the username ! I used to listen to HW, was mad on his stuff when I was about 13 lol! I played about with prices/quantities and found that buying from the supermarker was just as cheap actually.0

The bread flour from Lidls has ascorbic acid in it too which I haven't found with other supermarket or well known brands of flour.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000

(Allinson's yeast) I've used this since I got my pannyIs anyone using this successfully in a breadmaker? It says hand baking on the tub so I have avoided it.
Fabby bread. Only recommendation I would make, from experience, add 2 tsp of dried milk too. I tried this, and never looked back; the bread is soft yet crusty and tasty, never lasts long in this house!!

I'm new to this, just got a breadmaker. The recipe book that came with it doesn't have any recipes for mixed flour. ie wholemeal & white. The quantities in the separate recipes are exactly the same, same flour and water and yeast. Would you suggest I just swap one of the cups of flour for the other type so it is mixed?
Also the recipe for wholemeal bread says to add a crushed vit c tablet but the white bread doesn't. Should I add one if mixing the flours?0 -
