Hi there, I have just read through your thread, you sound like you have a plan to get debt free, I finally have a plan and so far so good, I know there will be hiccups along the way, but we will get there. I am going to subscribe to your thread as I need inspiration.
  • Hi Lauhen and thanks for posting. Sounds like you have a plan too from looking at your signature, those pesky loans and overdrafts are vile aren't they!! Good luck on your debt busting mission and I hope 2010 is a good year for you.
  • well managed to get home in one piece from work, roads awful, lost the car about four times, it was very scary! Popped in to Mr S on the way home for bread and milk and £23 later...... I must get better at shopping for the whole week so I don't have to keep popping into the shop. Thinking that the schools will be closed tomorrow but hopefully DH will not have to go in. I always feel compelled to get to work when snow bad as I work in HR and have to set an example!!! x

I do exactly the same when I pop to the shop, I can never just go in for the few things that I need, I have budgeted this month though, so this has to change.
Also, I kind of want it to snow, so we can carry on with the post Christmas holiday, I always seem to have the post Christmas blues.
  • Hi all. Not updated for a few days. So sick of this snow and we are supposed to be getting more tonight. The only good thing about the weather is I can't spend as I hate driving in it, less petrol and no visiting the shops.

DH gets paid by cash on Friday at work and because his boss could not get in with snow he never got paid. Another reason for making me think you need back up money.

I am inheriting some money this year and my mum is one of two executors of the will. She has a meeting with the Probate Office on Thursday and should get the certificate around 2-3 weeks after that. Some of the money can then be paid out so I am working out the highest interest debts to pay off first. The rest will come when the house has been sold and we do not know how long that will take.

    Enjoy your weekend all x
  • Hi! I know what you mean about the snow..............its not funny any more.........I feel like hibernating till spring! It took me three attempts to get the car up the lane this evening, I got there in the end but I think it would have been wiser to leave it at the bottom.

Had a good day on the diet today, but done nothing but eat since I've been home.

I think I'll start the special k diet tomorrow.....I need to do something drastic to give myself a kickstart.

    Have a good weekend

2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!
  • Morning all. Snowing badly here now, god knows what it will be like tomorrow. Good again for the spending though as I am going nowhere today. DH gone to shop for paper so asked him to get me some butter as I have some bananas on the turn - perfect for banana loaf which the kids and DH love. Played my free fiver on Bingobritain and did not win.

Need to blitz house but cannot get motivated at the mo.

Thinking that gas bill is going to be huge, scared to read the meter!

Have a good day all x
  • just dropped DS2 and DS3 off at mum's house. She takes them to school for me so should make things a bit easier tomorrow, means I can leave earlier than usual as don't know what trains will be like with this weather.

Can't believe its work again tomorrow, where do the weekends go??

Going to get pj's on now and settle down and watch Dancing On Ice, god what an exciting life I lead heh!!
  • off work today babysitting mum's dog as she has gone to London. Decided it was easier to book the day off as he hates being left and mum takes the kids to and from school for me. Hate booking hol so early in the year but never mind. Off to Slimming World tonight, not very MSE but cannot do it on my own so needs must and all that.

My flipping tumble dryer has packed up so I have to replace that, I know its not good for the electric but I cannot survive without it!

Set up an ISA today and a standing order to pay some in each payday. Lets see if I can leave it in and not withdraw from it!

Have a good day all x
