the best thing to do is reserve them both to collect in store ... then look at them both before making a decision. I did that with the samsung one earlier but decided i didint like it thought the casing was cheap im sticking to the toshiba Ive ordered from john lewis.:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad0

We've just got our 4th Toshiba laptop (two of us upgrading over the years) and the build and support quality has always been high.
I'm quite happy to pay top money for a machine that will last (spent over £1,000 before) but to be honest I can't see the point in paying any more than £380 (assuming a 15" screen) for domestic use these days unless you are doing something *very* intensive such as gaming or professional image processing.
Windows 7 is more efficient than Vista, there is only so much RAM and hard disk space you realistically need for home use before you are wasting money.0 -
I've just bought this laptop from Comet using the Review5 code and going through Quidco:
ACER AS5532-314G50MN
It is a recommended buy from Which Magazine, collecting later today. Pixmani have it at £377.10 including delivery, however don't know much about them.
I could be wrong Sara but I think it is a lower spec than the Samsung for more money.
For example, it is an AMD Athlon chip at 1.2GHz versus the Samsung's Dual Core Pentium running at 2GHz.. There are also some othe features the Samsung has which the Acer doesn't, such as webcam.

We bought my neice one from argos clearance on ebay cost us 300 and its brill. I would defo recomend buying from here. I would recomend a dual core processor preferably not celeron at least 3g memory. There is also dell clearance site which also has some bargains.Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j0

If you want to risk this dubious looking retailer
They have a mindblowingly cheap high-end laptop
£600 is WAAAAY too cheap for a Core 2 Quad Q9000, 9800M GTX, 2 drives, (Primary SSD, 2ndary HDD).
I don't think you could build a desktop PC of the same spec. for less than that!!
Strange thing is, nothing else in their shop appears to be particularly cheap. Maybe it's a misprice.0 -
we've ordered a Dell inspiron laptop off their website - for around £328 - I asked around at work and most of the tecchie guys recommended Dell0
