Only if you're posh. Not everywhere. In most parts of the country you can still get a selection of houses from £150k-£250k; in some areas you just have to be not so picky.

I regularly (about 6x per day) eye up lovely houses at £160-£200k.

You have to pay transaction costs whether you're posh or not.

Where are these lovely houses you regularly eye up for £160k? You should put a link up cos lots of people are moaning on here that nice properties are too expensive.;)

Flipping heck. You don't read the Houses forum for a bit and then when you come back it's full of people bragging how rich they are and making nasty personal comments about other posters. I remember when this board was funny and helpful.

Also, the standard of sock-puppetry has really dropped. Please make at least some small effort to make your posts sound different - a few spelling errors, use an accent, fake moustache - something. I may have to post on the Vent board about it if it doesn't improve.

This board may be in a ' Bad Potato Moment', so we need lot's of not bad ones to come back. Please come back......

Is this board is a bit like Real Life actually......which is a shame as I used to rely on it for an escape late at night.

Blame mse. There is no disciplinary procedure. One strike and you're gone. You can be a member for 4 years and give great advice, be a friend and try to bring some humour to peoples lives. One stupid little mistake and someone just deletes you? If you can explain that to me I am all ears.

I don't mind them, they are funny ha ha....it's the ...the....I can't put my finger on it but, there's this feeling of ''What I say is Right and FO everyone else'. It's quite Communist in essence actually.

I know about living under communism from my SIL. Some of it is fascinating, some tragic.

You know what? She grew up just outside St Petes and they had a factory in their town that spewed out strange smelling smoke. No-one was quite sure what the factory did. The party fell and the factory closed down.

Every female (incl her mother, aunts and friends) from her suburb has had cancer...breast, cervical, womb. She says it's not if, but when, despite living in UK for a decade.
She is 33. The cancers seem to kick in @ age 40.

It's why a certain poster sometimes get's my goat, shall we say......She had no control over where she was born or where she grew up but could end up as a human statistic. It's why the gloating winds me up sometimes.

You on a fixed now or svr?
  • fixed till april 12 then my lender has a standard mortgage rate (dont know if thats a svr under a different name) which is lower than nearly every other lenders svr.

its a ftb mortgage, and looked as decent a deal as i could get without going for a very long fixed term (think it was either 5 or 10 years) with a different lender.

by april 12 i mean april 2012, not april the 12th
