Can't you make a life for yourself in Australia? Haven't you got any mates or anything? You seem very lonely.

Of course it could be that there's a shortage, in Australia, of the scintillating company, fascinating knowledge, thought-provoking insight and compelling opinion that can be found on MSE and right here in the UK!

Well he should be in good company out there then.

He's not exactly scintillating, and his knowledge is very limited. And biased to boot. There's nothing compelling about him, except for his ability to make people groggy (which can be a good thing late at night, though)

I would imagine that if he talks how he writes the Ozzies avoid him like the plague. Ozzies don't do bores! They're direct and to the point - and as he seems to intensely dislike his in-laws, I would imagine the feeling is mutual.

PP (another person he's obsessed with) pointed out how pompous he was, and how arrogant - and yet has no credentials with to behave in such a manner. And I agree! At his age many successful men are planning towards early retirement. My friend who is a director of Pepsi Cola plans to retire at 45, and he is loaded. Not once has he ever spoken down to anybody, even though he's rich, successful and deserves admiration for his achievements. It's only the bitter losers who have failed, who behave arrogantly and try to put others down.

Actually when I joined in 2006 he welcomed me to the forum and I always found his posts/threads extremely knowledgeable. We are lucky to have him on this forum in my opinion, which isn't worth much to be honest.

My, tongue in cheek, comment was a suggested reason for Generali's continued posting on MSE, rather than direct comment on him. Maybe there isn't a credible equivalent in Aus. Either way, it's irrelevant.

However, Generali has his opinions and a lot more economic knowledge than most of us on here. I've been happy to learn from his posts (and also from many others too). I haven't observed the arrogance you describe.

Whatever your connection with pickledpink is, I really don't know. But, from the little I've read from her (provided pp is actually female?), it seems to be of little substance or even entertainment. Rather more of a show of alleged wealth, accompanied by a need to look down upon 'lesser,' poorer mortals.

She has also bragged that her cousin is a director of a cola firm (earns more than £200k, he does). So, her cousin and your friend .... one and the same?

I don't think most of us are concerned about other people's wealth. It's their attitude towards others that is of importance.

Hmm I've seen massive variation for house price direction over the next year or two, but the 3 year and onwards predictions are always for big increases.

Isn't it curious how rumbaba's posting style is so exactly identical to breadlinebetty's and pickledpink, isn't it?

Gosh, they must be really close friends, mustn't they?

Curious how two of them have alcoholic nicknames, too, isn't it? :p

I can see both sides of the argument.

Good, but as you're new, don't spend too much valuable time analysing today's posts. It's the holiday season, when the drink flows freely, and the trolling is worse than usual

Your first instinct was correct. It is all rather daft.;)

Good line that though: 'mad old fruitbat.':rotfl:
